Job summary

NPCI invites an Associate IT Procurement for Mumbai to manage procurement across application verticals. You will collaborate with project managers, vendors, and Legal to drive RFPs, evaluate offers, and finalize contracts.

The role focuses on IT spend, policy compliance, and timely closure of PRs with governance across the organization’s digital payments ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • 1–5 years of relevant procurement experience in IT or software.
  • Understanding of procurement cycles, RFPs, and vendor evaluations.
  • Familiarity with contract terms, pricing, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement Operations: review PRs, drive RFPs, validate vendor offers, ensure PO issuance.
  • Quality Assurance: ensure policy compliance, track audit issues, close PRs within defined timelines.
  • MIS and Reporting: share pendency reports, track vendor follow-ups.
  • Stakeholder Management: act as vendor single point of contact, coordinate with user departments.

Associate IT Procurement

Year of experience: 1 to 5 years

Job Location: Mumbai

Qualifications: BE/BTech/BSc IT/MCA

Functional Skills
  • Strong sourcing and procurement expertise.
  • Sound knowledge of GST.
  • Market intelligence (vendors, pricing, industry trends).
  • Contract management knowledge: Rate types (fixed/basic), Termination clauses, Milestones & LD clauses.
  • Understanding of software application procurement, IT staff augmentation (T&M model).
Technical Skills
  • Experience in D365 Procurement Module.

Application development is a critical spend area across NPCI – G, core NPCI, and subsidiaries. The associated RFP processes are complex, time‑intensive, and require extensive coordination with internal and external stakeholders. This role supports procurement across multiple application verticals, including:

Job Responsibilities
Procurement Operations (40%)
  • Review and perform due diligence of Procurement Requests (PRs).
  • Collaborate with project managers to define scope and engagement terms.
  • Drive RFPs/enquiries and manage the quotation process.
  • Conduct pre‑bid meetings and preparations.
  • Validate vendor offers (eligibility, technical compliance).
  • Perform commercial evaluations and ensure price benchmarking.
  • Facilitate price discovery via PDC or Reverse Auction (RA).
  • Ensure financial approvals and documentation.
  • Coordinate contract finalization with Legal and other departments.
  • Ensure PO issuance aligned with approved policies and terms.
Quality Assurance (30%)
  • Ensure compliance with IT procurement policies.
  • Address audit queries (target: zero open audit issues).
  • Track and report process deviations monthly.
  • PRs < 50 Lakhs: Closure within 20 days.
  • PRs 50 Lakhs – 1 Crore: Closure within 30 days.
  • PRs > 1 Crore: Closure within 45 days.
MIS and Reporting (10%)
  • Share weekly pendency reports with stakeholders.
  • Maintain and track vendor follow‑ups for pending POs.
Stakeholder Management (10%)
  • Act as SPOC for vendors, ensuring minimal escalations.
  • Partner with user departments and provide regular updates.
  • Understanding and interpreting technical requirements.
  • Ensuring clarity for timely decision‑making and execution.
Decisions Taken Independently
  • All decisions within approved procurement policies and delegation of authority.
Decisions Requiring Approval
  • As per procurement practices and delegation of financial powers.
