Asst. Manager/ Manager Investment Banking
Purpose of Role
Supporting the team in assessing Private equity/MA/IPO deals, building financial models and marketing collaterals, participating in investor due diligence, market and industry research, preparing materials like Notes, Memos, PPTs, Information Memorandum to support a transaction for both internal and external stakeholders.
Scope
- Origination and Execution of advisory and Investment banking mandates
Key Responsibilities
Origination
- To continuously work to support new business opportunities and organize team meetings or set up conference calls with senior management.
- Explore origination opportunities across core sectors and geographies and travel with senior management on short notice.
- To identify new opportunities for existing clients and communicate to the manager.
Client service delivery/execution
- Execute the work on a multiple client base for Investment banking and Government advisory assignments.
- Support preparation of Information Memorandums, Financial Models, Pitch presentations, Project reports and/or Teasers.
- Travel to client locations to ensure closure of information gaps and/or execution related work as required.
- Participate in due diligence of deals until definitive documentation closure; network internally within the peer group and other levels in the firm to gain understanding of issues that may impact clients.
Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with risk management strategies, plans and activities.
- Understand the concept of risk management and bring risk issues on client assignments to the notice of the manager/supervisor.
Knowledge Management
- Support knowledge sharing efforts and continually improve processes so that the work team can capture and leverage knowledge on an ongoing basis.
Attributes/Technical Skills
- Experience working on advisory mandates for Private equity/MA/IPO/Government advisory.
- Strong team player with experience working in a dynamic organisation and able to build bridges between the different stakeholders within the organisation.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to think outside of the box, to challenge the status quo.
- Strong communication and influencing skills; collaborative and a team player.
Relevant Experience/Qualification
- Minimum 5-8 years of working experience in Investment banking/Consulting.
- Exposure to Business development, execution of Equity deals, Financial Modeling, and/or primary secondary research.
- Expertise in macro-economic research and identification of KPIs/SWOT.
- Good working experience in financial modeling, preparation of marketing collaterals, and investor relationships.
- Excel, Word, PowerPoint and writing presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance a must; Chartered Accountant / CFA preferred.
