Job summary

UST is seeking an Associate III for Semiconductor Product Validation in Bengaluru to join a validation team that tests next-generation client/server platforms. You will contribute to validating BIOS/FW features and coordinating cross-team efforts to ensure platform readiness.

You will execute test cases, triage defects, reproduce bugs, and work with customers to achieve timely deliverables, recording progress in JIRA and reporting status regularly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in validation of BIOS/FW/platform for Server/Client computers.
• Ability to understand BIOS/FW features and execute test cases.
• Experience triaging and debugging defects with root cause analysis.
• Proficient with SW/HW debug tools and test environments.

Responsibilities

• Understand the FW and platform features and the test cases to validate them.
• Execute test cases in post silicon and pre-silicon environment, provide the test results and report defects.
• Triage, file and follow through defects till closure.
• Perform bug reproduction and fix verification activities.
• Debug and root cause BIOS/FW defects.
• Prepare test systems by assembling the required hardware, flashing FW and installing and configuring OS and drivers.
• Work closely with UST and customer teams in achieving the deliverables.
• Record activity progress in JIRA, publish daily and weekly status reports.

The Opportunity

You will be part of a validation team engaged in validation of next generation client/ server computer platforms. Your activities will be aligned to achieve the team's target.

Responsibilities

• Understand the FW and platform features and the test cases to validate them
• Execution of test cases in post silicon and pre-silicon environment, provide the test results and report defects

Essential Skills/Experience

• Bachelor degree in Electrical/ Computer engineering or related field
• 4+ Yrs experience in validation of BIOS/FW/platform of Server/Client computers
• Knowledge of various subsystems and interfaces in a Server/ PC Client system
• Ability to understand BIOS/FW/product features and execute the test cases
• Experience to triage and debug defects and root cause
• Ability to use SW and HW debug tools
• Experience in using SIMICS is a plus
• Ability to assemble computer system
• Ability to understand, articulate and isolate the issues observed during test execution
• Commitment to work night shift and weekend when required
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with different teams
