Job summary

UST is seeking a Team Leader for Client Onboarding to drive custody and third-party account openings on our investment platform. You will oversee onboarding activities and ensure accurate account set-ups in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle complex queries, mentor juniors, and collaborate with internal/external custodians to maintain system integrity and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in onboarding or custodian account opening is required.
• Understanding of trade operations and settlements is advantageous.
• Experience with DTCC SSI and SWIFT is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3rd party onboarding activities for custody and client funds.
• Open and monitor simple and complex trading accounts ensuring validity.
• Maintain Standing Settlement Instructions and assist in Liabilities management.

The Opportunity

UST is looking for Team Leader; you will play a critical role in delivering a robust control environment and supporting Investment Teams to ensure effective pre- and post-trade mandate restriction monitoring all within challenging deadlines.

You will provide subject matter expertise, particularly in the oversight and delivery of complex queries and tasks, and handling ad-hoc requests.

We are looking for someone who likes working as part of a team, is comfortable with a fast-paced operations environment and has a strong attention to detail.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

The 3rd party onboarding team forms part of the wider Onboarding and Event Management module. The O&EM teams’ goal is to deliver all onboarding activities required to bring a Client or Client Fund to life on our investment platform.

The 3rd party Onboarding team is primarily responsible for custody and third party account opening.

They are responsible for opening both simple and complex market trading accounts, monitoring of these accounts for validity and ensuring our internal and external systems are accurately maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

• Completion of custodian opening documentation
• Managing of custodian standing instructions for repatriation of non base currencies
• Updating and maintenance of Standing Settlement instructions in DTCC
• Opening of custody markets for clients and Client funds including complex documented markets
• Setup of third-party accounts on our platform to facilitate CFD and Loan accounts
• Maintenance of broker related macros to facilitate trade settlement
• Monitoring of India trading accounts and completion of FPI licence renewals
• Perform checks on behalf of investment to check market account validity prior to trading
• Setup of Wall Street Office to facilitate Loan trading
• Setup of Triana to facilitate CFD trading
• Support projects to implement Global Custodian Direct with existing and new custodians
• Act as a role model and point of contact for junior colleagues
• Escalate issues immediately to the Team Leader Skills

Required Skills

5+ years’ experience within an onboarding or custodian account opening team

• A good understanding of trade operations and settlements would be advantageous
• Experience of managing SSI’s within DTCC
• A good understanding of SWIFT
• Managing a high volume of varied tasks efficiently and meeting internal and external deadlines.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Commitment to delivering a high-quality onboarding and offboarding experience for our clients
• Good understanding of operational risks
• Previous experience working within an Asset Management firm or similar.
