Job Description
The purpose of this position is to provide essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and perform HSE engineering work tasks for projects, allowing delivery of projects with minimized risks of human injury, environmental degradation, and asset loss.
Responsibilities
- Develop a basic knowledge of the company specific HSE standards, programs, and goals by learning and applying HSE procedures through departmental training, Fluor University® training, and the use of knowledge management portals and communities.
- Study routine design reviews, calculations, and models, including hydrology calculations and dispersion models, using standard techniques and guidelines to understand possible HSE impact.
- Promote HSE standards and goals with programs throughout the company and/or projects to foster a safe and productive work environment.
- Support preparation of HSE sections in the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and the Project Procedures Manual (PPM) for a simple project.
- Become familiar with HSE permit preparation on projects while gaining understanding of current guidelines and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Job Requirements
- Accredited four (4)-year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and no required previous years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications to comply with local requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
Other Job Requirements
- Gather simple industry-wide HSE-related information and data for review and possible application.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to use professional software, as required.
