Ascensus is seeking a compliance testing professional to monitor Census information through tests, lead test portfolios, and ensure timely reporting. The role emphasizes regulatory knowledge, leadership, and problem solving in a flexible, results-driven environment.

Preferred ASPPA certification, strong Excel skills, and a finance/accounting background will support success in monitoring Form 5500 compliance for 401(k) plans.

Qualifications

• Experience in retirement plan recordkeeping/administration with knowledge of IRS and DOL regulations.
• Expert knowledge of compliance testing, trust accounting, and Form 5500 for 401(k) plans.
• Preferably ASPPA certified or equivalent.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Proficient MS Excel and general IT literacy.
• Graduate or postgraduate degree in finance or accounting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor census information through compliance tests and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor receipt of Census information to completion of Compliance Tests, Trust Accounting and Form 5500 reporting and deliver the results to clients on a timely basis.
• Lead the design and delivery of a portfolio of compliance tests to monitor compliance with regulation and internal policy.
• Conduct test checks and testing reviews on a quarterly, semi‑annual and annual basis.
• Develop service level agreements (SLAs) and lead process development and improvement initiatives.
• Identify root causes and control breaks, and implement organizational change management solutions.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of compliance testing, trust accounting, and Form 5500 for 401(k) plans.
• Preferably ASPPA certified or equivalent.
• Proven leadership, management, and direct supervisory skills.

• Basic MS Office knowledge with good working knowledge of Excel.
• Ability to adapt assignments quickly and work flexibly, including day/night shifts as required.
• Knowledge of reconciliation concepts and awareness of employment fraud.
• Graduate or postgraduate degree in finance or accounting.
• Proven track record of working effectively in flexible, results‑oriented environments.
