Job summary

Vertiv Co in Pune, India seeks an Engineer, Product Material Compliance to analyze Vertiv products for compliance with RoHS, REACH, TSCA, and related customer requirements. You will evaluate compliance for new and existing products, support data-driven improvements, and collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to enhance systems and supplier data.

The role requires 1–2 years of relevant experience, familiarity with BOM systems and PLM tools, and strong analytical and communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, materials engineering or related discipline.
  • Background in chemical, environmental engineering, materials science or chemistry (B.S.).
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Familiar with Bill of Materials management systems (e.g., Oracle PD, Agile, TeamCenter).
  • Experience with electronics hardware, components and assemblies.
  • Familiar with product compliance databases; PLM and Assent Manager a plus.
  • Experience with REACH, RoHS, CA Prop 65 or similar programs is preferred.
  • Strong project/program management experience.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
  • Strong analytical, data evaluation and reporting skills.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and able to work in a global, fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize material compliance processes within Vertiv product development to ensure compliance and schedules.
  • Drive improvement in gathering/managing material compliance data between internal systems and 3rd party providers.
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on material compliance regulations and best practices.
  • Improve Product Material Compliance Team processes and protocols for efficiency and quality.
  • Enter data into the environmental compliance database daily.

Job Summary

The Engineer, Product Material Compliancewill be responsible for analyzing Vertiv's products for compliance with material regulations (including RoHS, REACH, TSCA, PoP's, PFAS and others) and customer requirements.

The Material Compliance Engineer contributes to a range of responsibilities, including evaluating compliance for new products; recertification of existing products; evaluating the impact of regulations and customer requests; analyzing compliance and process related data and making recommendations; and executing projects to develop and improve related processes. This individual will also collaborate with the procurement and engineering teams to improve the data in Vertiv's systems and the data collected from Vertiv's suppliers. This role may also support other compliance, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), and engineering activities.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize the material compliance processes within Vertiv product development (VPD) to ensure that products are compliant and product introduction schedules are met.
  • Assist in driving improvement in the process of gathering and managing material compliance data between Vertiv's product development system and its 3rd party compliance outreach provider.
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on material compliance regulations and best practices.
  • Assist in improving the Product Material Compliance Team's processes and protocols to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Manage data entry into the environmental compliance database on a daily basis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering, materials engineering, or related discipline required.
  • Chemical, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science or Chemistry B.S.
  • Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience.
  • MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Bill of Material management systems (ex. Oracle PD, Agile, TeamCenter)
  • Must have experience working with electronics hardware, components, assemblies.
  • Must have experience with product compliance databases. Previous experience with PLM and Assent Manager is a plus.
  • Preferred minimum 1-2 years of experience with product material compliance programs such as REACH, RoHS, CA Prop 65 or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience with project/program management
