Job summary

Asteria Aerospace Ltd is seeking an Associate Engineer I - Flight Operations to safely operate drones for solutions projects, following approved mission plans and DGCA regulations. You will capture high-quality airborne data and maintain strict safety and operational standards.

The role includes preflight checks, flight logs, and coordination with the operations team. Based out of Mumbai, this FTC position lasts one year with potential for extension based on project needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Electronics or related Engineering.
  • 0–2 years of flying multirotor and VTOL experience.
  • Experience in onsite drone data collection and data post processing.

Responsibilities

  • Operate quadcopter & VTOL drones for aerial surveys and inspections.
  • Conduct pre-flight planning and on-site reconnaissance.
  • Perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks for safety and efficiency.
  • Capture aerial datasets (RGB, Thermal, Multispectral, EO-IR as applicable).
  • Ensure adherence to DGCA and company safety protocols.
  • Support troubleshooting and basic maintenance of drones and ground equipment.
  • Maintain flight logs, daily mission reports, and operational records.
  • Assist in mission planning with Project Leads.
  • Assist in inventory management and readiness checks.
  • Help develop SOPs and training materials when required.
  • Travel to customer or project locations as needed.

Job Description:

The Associate Engineer Flight Operation role is to safely operate drones for drone solutions projects by executing approved mission plans, capturing high quality aerial data and ensuring strict compliance with DGCA regulations, airspace requirements and organizational SOPs.

The role involves conducting preflight and postflight checks, maintaining flight logs, coordinating with the operations team during deployments and promptly reporting any technical or safety issues to ensure reliable, efficient and compliant drone operation.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Operate quadcopter &VTOL drones for aerial surveys, inspections, and monitoring projects.
  • Conduct pre-flight planning and on-site reconnaissance.
  • Perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Capture aerial datasets (RGB, Thermal, Multispectral, or EO-IR as applicable).
  • Ensure strict adherence to DGCA and company safety protocols.
  • Support troubleshooting and basic maintenance of drones and ground equipment.
  • Maintain accurate flight logs, daily mission reports, and operational records.

  • Experience in flying in different terrains and operational conditions (rural, industrial, corridor, confined areas).
Additional Note:

Mumbai has been identified as the base location for this position, as the project sites are located in Nagothane. Accordingly, the selected candidate will be based out of Mumbai. Please note that this is a Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) position with a tenure of one year.
