Job summary

Buddy4study is seeking a Lead Curation & Education Loan Counsellor to manage the end-to-end student loan application journey, including lead qualification, counselling, application processing, stakeholder coordination and driving loan disbursements.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication, customer-centricity, process discipline, and the ability to perform in a target-driven environment to maximise conversions and successful disbursements.

Qualifications

• Graduate in any discipline (MBA preferred).
• Experience in Education Loans, Financial Services, Banking, NBFC, FinTech, Student Counselling or Inside Sales.
• Familiarity with education loan products and lending processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead Management & Curation: qualify, prioritize, and curate leads; maintain lead hygiene; update CRM with real-time status.
• Student Counselling & Conversion: counsel applicants on loan products; conduct outbound/inbound calls; drive funnel conversions.
• Application Processing & Documentation: collect and verify documents; ensure complete files; coordinate pending docs.
• Loan Closure & Disbursement Coordination: track from submission to disbursement; liaise with credit, underwriting, risk, operations, and finance; minimize turnaround times.
• Compliance & Reporting: maintain MIS records; prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports; escalate challenges.
• Technology & Process Excellence: use CRM, LOS, dashboards; adapt to new systems; analyze reports for bottlenecks.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and result-oriented Lead Curation & Education Loan Counsellor to manage the end-to-end student loan application journey. The role involves lead qualification, student counselling, application processing, stakeholder coordination, and driving successful loan disbursements. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, customer-centricity, process discipline, and the ability to work effectively in a target-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Management & Curation

• Manage and work through assigned lead pipelines efficiently.
• Qualify, prioritize, and curate leads based on eligibility and conversion potential.
• Identify high-intent applicants and focus efforts on maximizing conversions.
• Maintain lead hygiene and ensure accurate lead tracking.
• Update CRM systems regularly with real-time lead status and progress.

Student Counselling & Conversion

• Counsel prospective students and co-applicants regarding education loan products and processes.
• Conduct outbound and inbound calls to guide applicants through the loan journey.
• Follow structured calling scripts, engagement plans, and follow-up schedules.
• Address applicant concerns, objections, and queries professionally.
• Drive conversions across the entire funnel from enquiry to application submission.

Application Processing & Documentation

• Collect, verify, and validate applicant documents.
• Ensure complete and error-free loan application files.
• Coordinate with applicants to obtain pending documentation within timelines.
• Maintain proper documentation and compliance throughout the application process.

Loan Closure & Disbursement Coordination

• Track applications from submission through sanction and final disbursement.
• Liaise with credit, underwriting, risk, operations, and finance teams.
• Proactively follow up to minimize turnaround times and prevent application drop-offs.
• Ensure seamless movement of files through various approval stages.
• Monitor sanctioned cases until successful disbursement completion.

Technology & Process Excellence

• Utilize CRM platforms, Loan Origination Systems (LOS), dashboards, and digital lending tools effectively.
• Adapt quickly to new systems, processes, and lending partner integrations.
• Analyze reports and dashboards to identify bottlenecks and improve performance.
• Provide process improvement recommendations based on applicant feedback and operational insights.

Compliance & Reporting

• Adhere to organizational policies, lending guidelines, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate MIS records on leads, applications, sanctions, conversions, and disbursements.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
• Escalate operational challenges, process gaps, and risks to the reporting manager.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate in any discipline (MBA preferred).
• 15 years of experience in Education Loans, Financial Services, Banking, NBFC, FinTech, Student Counselling, or Inside Sales.
• Experience in handling customer acquisition and conversion processes.
• Familiarity with education loan products and lending processes will be preferred.
