Qualifications

• Proven experience in sports management, physical education, coaching, discipline management, school administration, or a similar leadership role.
• Strong understanding of competitive sports, physical fitness, and student development.

Responsibilities

• Assist school leadership in developing and implementing the overall sports, physical fitness, and discipline framework.
• Plan and manage annual sports calendars, training schedules, fitness programs, competitions, and physical development activities.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Associate Director – Sports & Discipline to strengthen the school's sports, physical fitness, discipline, and student-development ecosystem.

The role will be responsible for developing a strong culture of fitness, discipline, leadership, teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship among students and cadets.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist school leadership in developing and implementing the overall sports, physical fitness, and discipline framework.
• Plan and manage annual sports calendars, training schedules, fitness programs, competitions, and physical development activities.
• Identify and nurture sporting talent and support students preparing for district, state, and national-level competitions.
• Supervise coaches, PE faculty, sports staff, and related support teams.
• Monitor student discipline across sports, residential, academic, and extracurricular activities.
• Develop and implement structured physical training and fitness routines for students.
• Promote a strong culture of punctuality, discipline, teamwork, leadership, and responsibility.
• Organize inter-house, inter-school, and major sports and fitness events.
• Monitor student performance, discipline, fitness levels, and overall development.
• Ensure proper maintenance and safe use of sports facilities, equipment, and training areas.
• Maintain sports, fitness, discipline, and student-performance records.
• Coordinate with the Principal, teachers, hostel/residential teams, coaches, and other departments.
• Support student leadership and character-building initiatives.
• Handle day-to-day sports and discipline-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Promote a Sainik School-style culture of physical fitness, resilience, leadership, discipline, and patriotism.

Candidate Profile

• Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, Defence Studies, or a related field.
• Proven experience in sports management, physical education, coaching, discipline management, school administration, or a similar leadership role.
• Strong understanding of competitive sports, physical fitness, and student development.
• Excellent leadership, communication, planning, and team-management skills.
• Experience managing coaches, sports facilities, student teams, events, and physical training programs.
• Strong ability to maintain discipline while creating a positive and motivating environment.
• Experience in Sainik School, Defence, Residential School, NCC, Armed Forces, Police, Sports Academy, or similar institutions will be an advantage.
• Candidates with a strong background in sports and defence-oriented student training will be preferred.
