Role Summary
The Associate Director – Operations plays a pivotal, high-responsibility role in the business and is central to supporting its growth. Beyond overseeing all operational areas of implementation, this person interacts directly with customers and partners, and leads a large team of managers and operations executives. We're looking for someone who has run large implementation teams in operations-heavy, hardware/IoT-enabled SaaS environments, and who is equally comfortable in strategy rooms and on the ground solving live implementation hiccups.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end implementation of our solution at top customers with high ticket size — ensuring timely go-live by directing and guiding the team and applying operational excellence tools to resolve problems, including training.
- Own supply chain solution design and implementation strategy for new and existing enterprise accounts — translating client requirements into deployable, scalable implementation plans.
- Lead, manage and coach an implementation team of 30–50 people (direct and indirect reports) across program/project management, field implementation and on-ground support functions.
- Travel to client locations as needed to understand requirements, train clients on our solutions, and build lasting relationships.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of IoT-based / hardware-integrated supply chain solutions, ensuring speed, quality and consistency across rollouts.
- Design and set up implementation processes, and drive continuous improvement of the same.
- Collaborate with the technical team to configure our platform to client requirements and troubleshoot technical issues raised by clients.
- Reduce time-to-implementation and directly influence revenue realisation timelines by removing delivery bottlenecks.
- Get hands-on with live implementation issues — diagnose root causes and resolve on-ground hiccups that block go-live or adoption.
- Set and monitor KPIs (implementation timelines, revenue realisation, team utilisation) to assess projects and give leadership visibility.
- Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering and Customer Success to build a repeatable, scalable implementation playbook.
- Build and mentor a second line of program/project managers to support scale across geographies and accounts.
What We're Looking For
- 8–10 years of experience in supply chain, logistics-tech or enterprise SaaS, with hardcore implementation exposure to IoT-based / hardware-integrated products.
- Proven experience managing large teams (30–50 people) in operations-heavy organisations.
- Background in supply chain design and/or director-level strategy / supply chain roles, ideally from new-age 3PL, logistics or quick-commerce companies.
- Track record of owning implementation timelines and revenue realisation as measurable outcomes, not just delivery milestones.
- Ability to see the big picture as well as the finer details — equally comfortable in daily operational matters and larger strategic goals, with a systematic, organised approach to work.
- Strong problem-solving instinct — comfortable getting into the weeds of an implementation to unblock it, not just managing from a dashboard.
- Brilliant communication and interpersonal skills, able to deal with people at all levels in a direct, diplomatic way; strong understanding of customer/client requirements.
- Effective time management, prioritisation and delegation, with the ability to lead, coach, inspire and motivate a large team.
- MBA from a Tier-1 institute is mandatory.
- Prior exposure to enterprise hardware implementation (e.g. barcode/IoT device rollouts) is a strong plus.
- Desire to assume responsibility and work autonomously; highly organised and able to juggle numerous priorities.
