Job summary

Bristlecone is seeking an experienced Associate Consultant – SAP BASIS to join our SAP Modernization – Delivery department in India. You will handle end‑to‑end SAP BASIS administration, ensuring system stability and performance across multiple environments.

You will manage transports, upgrades, and database tasks for Oracle, SQL Server, and SAP HANA, while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Travel to client sites and on‑call rotations are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on SAP BASIS experience in large, heterogeneous SAP landscapes.
• Strong knowledge of SAP NetWeaver, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP HANA administration.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and SAP HANA databases.
• Proficiency in OS platforms (Linux/UNIX, Windows) and scripting (Shell, PowerShell).
• Understanding of SAP security concepts, authorizations, and audit requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities with functional and technical stakeholders.
• SAP BASIS certification (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate) is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day SAP BASIS administration including system start/stop, transport management, and user administration.
• Monitor SAP system health, performance metrics, and proactively resolve alerts.
• Plan and execute installations, patches, and version upgrades across SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and BW environments.
• Manage database administration tasks for Oracle, SQL Server, and SAP HANA platforms.
• Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis for system issues.
• Coordinate with functional teams to support change requests, transports, and system refreshes.
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery strategies.
• Document technical procedures, configuration settings, and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as required.
• Assist in SAP security hardening, authorizations, and compliance audits.
