Job summary

Citi is seeking a Business Analyst in India to document user stories, write acceptance criteria, and act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams. The Business Analyst is a developing professional role which integrates in-depth specialty knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices; demonstrates good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner.

Responsibilities

• Capturing and documenting user stories: This refers to the act of eliciting and writing down the user stories.
• Acceptance criteria: A fundamental component of a well-defined user story, outlining the conditions that must be met for the story to be considered complete.
• Collaboration with business stakeholders: Emphasizes the crucial involvement of product owners and other business representatives in the user story definition process, a cornerstone of Agile methodologies.
• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the technology team.
• Elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of stakeholders.
• Create and maintain detailed business and functional requirement documents.
• Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing strategies.
• Execute testing activities and ensure the quality of the final product.
• Participate actively in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Collaborate effectively with onshore counterparts to ensure alignment and clarity on requirements.
• Write the Business Test Plan, conduct reviews, gain approvals, identify the proper test accounts that are requested and conditioned to meet the plan.
• Open defects as needed, retest once code is updated
• Deliverables will include, but not limited to: Test plan, Testing scripts, Account conditioning, Testing execution Testing Exit report by code freeze, Obtain approval from PM Willing to work in India Night Shifts (5.30 PM to 2.30 AM IST)

Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a significant portion dedicated to testing roles.
• Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of banking products. Direct experience in Retail Banking is a significant advantage.
• Methodologies: Proficient in SDLC models, including both Agile and Waterfall.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are mandatory for effective collaboration with international teams.
• Education: Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
