Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced Project Controls professional for our Mumbai/India operations within the GDSC. The role focuses on cost management, budgeting, and dashboard development using Power BI to support complex infrastructure programs.

You will monitor costs, prepare change controls and invoices, and produce regular progress reports. Strong communication and at least 6 years in project control are essential to succeed in this permanent role.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech or B.Com / M.Com in Accounting/Finance; additional Finance degree is an advantage.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in project control and commercial management for infrastructure projects in design consultancy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand project commercials and cost management; prepare budget and resource profiling.
• Monitor actual costs/hours against budget; perform earned value analysis.
• Prepare change control notes, invoices and agreements; follow up with internal clients for approvals.
• Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports and support PM on Business Management System activities.
• Develop/modify dashboards using Power BI in collaboration with the digital team.
• Store project data using standard templates and improve processes through automation.

About The Business Unit

Global Delivery Services Centre (GDSC) is a high-impact business unit within Mott MacDonald, dedicated to enhancing project delivery across our global operations.

Responsibilities will include:

• Understand the project commercials and cost management of the project including,
• Preparing budget, resource profiling
• Monitor the actual cost/hours against budget, earned value analysis
• Preparation of agreements, change control notes, invoices
• Follow up with internal clients on approval of change control notes, invoices etc.
• Preparing weekly/monthly progress reports
• Supporting Project Manager on Business Management System activities
• Understanding the existing dashboards and preparing new dashboards using power BI along with digital team
• Supporting Project Manager in their daily tasks, as & when required
• Storing project data properly as directed by Project Manager and ensure use of standard templates, information etc. across all similar projects.
• Proactive involving in improving the processes through automation and use of digital delivery practices.

Candidate Specification:

• BE/ BTech or B.Com / M.Com Degree in Accounting/Finance. Any additional degree in Finance would be an added advantage.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in project control and commercial management of Infrastructure projects within the design consultancy sector.
• Having excellent written and verbal communication skills.
