Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a qualified Project Controller to join the Global Delivery Services Centre in India. You will support cost management, budgeting, and dashboards development for infrastructure projects.

The role requires collaboration with internal clients and a focus on delivering accurate financial insights. You will work with a team of professionals, contributing to process improvements and automation while ensuring compliance with standard templates and reporting schedules.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in project control and commercial management of infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor or higher degree in accounting/finance or related field; finance knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Understand project commercials and manage project costs against budget.
• Prepare budgets and resource profiling; monitor costs and hours against budget.
• Prepare change control notes, invoices, and related documents.
• Produce weekly/monthly progress reports.
• Support Project Manager with Business Management System activities.
• Develop dashboards using Power BI with the digital team.
• Ensure proper storage of project data using standard templates.

About the Business Unit

Global Delivery Services Centre (GDSC) is a high-impact business unit within Mott MacDonald, dedicated to enhancing project delivery across our global operations.

As part of GDSC, you’ll join a team that champions excellence in both technical and digital disciplines, supporting projects at every stage of the lifecycle—from concept to completion. We work to international design standards and regulations, ensuring our contributions meet the highest benchmarks of quality and innovation.

Responsibilities will include:

• Understand the project commercials and cost management of the project including,
• Preparing budget, resource profiling
• Monitor the actual cost/hours against budget, earned value analysis
• Preparation of agreements, change control notes, invoices
• Follow up with internal clients on approval of change control notes, invoices etc.
• Preparing weekly/monthly progress reports
• Supporting Project Manager on Business Management System activities
• Understanding the existing dashboards and preparing new dashboards using power BI along with digital team
• Supporting Project Manager in their daily tasks, as & when required
• Storing project data properly as directed by Project Manager and ensure use of standard templates, information etc. across all similar projects.
• Proactive involving in improving the processes through automation and use of digital delivery practices.

Candidate Specification:

• BE/ BTech or B.Com / M.Com Degree in Accounting/Finance. Any additional degree in Finance would be an added advantage.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in project control and commercial management of Infrastructure projects within the design consultancy sector.
• Having excellent written and verbal communication skills.
