Job summary

Medhavi Skills University in Sikkim invites applications for an Assistant Professor in CSE (Cybersecurity). You will teach core computer science and cybersecurity courses to B.Tech and MCA students and shape curricula.

You will mentor students, conduct research, publish in journals, and contribute to accreditation processes, while collaborating with industry partners to strengthen practical learning and employability.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in CSE/IT with First Class, ME/MTech/MS in CSE/IT; PhD desirable but not mandatory.
• Strong knowledge in Network Security, Cryptography, Digital Forensics, and Penetration Testing.
• Programming with Python, C++, or Java for security automation and tooling.
• Industry credentials like CEH, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CISM are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver lectures, tutorials, and labs for B.Tech and MCA students.
• Update course syllabi to cover Cloud Security, IoT Security, Ethical Hacking, and AI security.
• Mentor students in academics and career planning, and oversee capstone projects.
• Conduct cybersecurity research and publish in SCI/SCOPUS journals or conferences.
• Create high-quality examinations and provide feedback for student improvement.
• Support NAAC/NBA accreditation documentation and departmental committees.

Role Overview

The Assistant Professor in CSE (Cybersecurity) will be responsible for delivering high-quality education andadvancing research within the department. This role involves teaching core computer science and specialized cybersecurity courses to B.Tech and MCA students, developing modern curricula, and mentoring students in their academic and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Academic Instruction: Design and deliver comprehensive lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions forundergraduate (B.Tech) and postgraduate (MCA) students.
• 2. Curriculum Innovation: Develop and update course syllabi to incorporate emerging industry trends such as CloudSecurity, IoT Security, Ethical Hacking, and AI in Cybersecurity.
• 3. Student Mentorship: Serve as a faculty advisor, guiding students through academic planning, career counseling, andfinal-year capstone projects.
• 4. Research Excellence: Conduct original research in cybersecurity and publish findings in reputable SCI/SCOPUS listedjournals and international conferences.
• 5. Academic Assessment: Formulate high-standard examination papers, conduct continuous internal evaluations, andprovide detailed feedback to improve student performance.
• 6. Departmental Service: Contribute to administrative tasks, including NAAC/NBA accreditation documentation anddepartmental committee participation.

Qualifications & Skills Required

• B.E. / B.Tech. and M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. in CSE/IT with First Class or equivalent in either degree. Ph.D. Status: A Ph.D. in a relevant field (Cybersecurity/Computer Science) is highly desirable but not a mandatory requirement for this entry-level position.
• Strong foundational knowledge in Network Security, Cryptography, Digital Forensics, and Penetration Testing.
• Practical expertise in Python, C++, or Java for security automation and tool development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical topics for students.
• Industry-recognized credentials such as CEH, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CISM are considered a major asset.
