Job summary

Leading Container Glass Manufacturing Company in Mumbai invites a seasoned Category Manager for Capex, Engineering Spares, MRO, and related services. You will drive procurement across multiple plants, source critical materials, and negotiate contracts to optimize costs.

You will build supplier bases, manage ARCs and service agreements, and oversee P2P cycles using ERP/SAP, ensuring compliance and timely MIS reporting.

Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate with 10+ years in Capex, Engineering Spares, MRO procurement.
• Experience in vendor consolidation, cost benchmarking, import/export processes.
• Familiarity with service and labour contracts and related legal frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Procurement for Capex, Engineering Spares, MRO and raw materials for multiple plants.
• Source critical materials, spares, refractories, utilities, instrumentation and steel.
• Develop reliable suppliers, OEMs, authorized dealers and distributors.
• Negotiate ARCs, service, labour and utility contracts to control costs.
• Monitor market trends and pricing to optimize procurement costs.
• Benchmark costs and explore domestic and international sourcing.
• Coordinate with plant teams for Capex/Opex requirements and maintain inventory.
• Manage procurement through ERP/SAP and execute P2P cycles.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, laws and audits.
• Prepare MIS reports and procurement updates for management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors for supplier development.

Position: Category Manager – Capex, Engineering Spares, MRO, Fuel & Service Contracts

Job Location: Mumbai

Job Responsibilities

• Procurement activities for Capex, Engineering Spares, MRO & Raw Materials for multiple manufacturing plants.
• To understand plant requirements and ensure timely sourcing of critical materials, engineering spares, refractories, utilities, instrumentation, electrical items, and steel.
• To identify and develop reliable suppliers, OEMs, authorized dealers, and distributors for MRO consumables, lubricants, and engineering products.
• To negotiate and finalize Annual Rate Contracts (ARCs), service agreements, labour contracts, and utility contracts to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• To monitor market trends, pricing movements, and supply conditions and take proactive actions to optimize procurement costs.
• To benchmark costs with industry standards and explore both domestic and international sourcing opportunities for better value and efficiency.
• To coordinate with plant teams for Capex and Opex requirements and maintain adequate inventory levels of critical items.
• To manage procurement activities through ERP/SAP systems and ensure smooth execution of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle.
• To ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, legal requirements, and audit standards.
• To prepare MIS reports, procurement analysis, and management updates on a regular basis.
• To work closely with cross-functional teams and support vendor development initiatives through regular supplier and plant visits.

Qualifications

• Graduate / Post Graduate with 10+ years of experience in Capex, Engineering Spares, MRO Procurement, preferably from Container Glass, Packaging, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Process Industries.
• Should have strong knowledge of engineering spares, refractories, utilities, and service contract management.
• Experience in vendor consolidation, cost benchmarking, and import/export processes.
• Familiarity with legal frameworks governing service and labour contracts.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/SAP systems.
