Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Ahmedabad, India is seeking an Assistant Mechanical BIM Engineer/Modeller (PHE) to join the Global Delivery Services Centre. The role focuses on water supply, drainage layouts, and coordination with MEP and BIM leads.

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical engineering and 3+ years PHE design experience are preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks, Aecosim and MicroStation is expected, with flexible working options.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of PHE design experience.
• Experience in modelling plumbing layouts, schematic diagrams and BOQ preparation.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT and BIM tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare water supply, storm water and drainage layouts and drawings.
• Provide inputs for design calculations.
• Coordinate with MEP, structural services and BIM leads.
• Coordinate with other BIM leads for uploading models and clash resolution.
• Work to tight deadlines and help junior staff.

As part of GDSC in India, you will be working alongside Mott MacDonald international colleagues delivering ambitious projects across a broad range of building types including commercial, residential, retail and offices, education, healthcare, airports, datacenter, hotels, sports and events venues, and Metro & stations. Under this sector, our services span the whole asset cycle from advisory to consulting, through design and delivery, to asset management. With deep understanding of all phases of the building lifecycle, it enables us to give our clients the best-informed engineering and innovative solutions.

Key Deliverables

• Preparation of Water supply layout/storm water design layout/drainage layout, Schematic drawings, statutory approval drawings & material take-off from PHE layouts
• Providing basic inputs for design calculations
• Coordination with other MEP and structural services
• Coordination with other BIM leads for uploading the models, Initiating workflows, Model conversions and effective clash resolving with MEP and other services.
• Work within time limits to complete deliverables on time
• Share knowledge and experience with junior staff in the section and to help develop junior staff
• Handle a team of Modellers independently with minimal supervision.

Candidate Specification :

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or equivalent in respective engineering discipline
• Possess 3+ years of experience in the field of PHE design as above
• Experience in modelling of plumbing & layout preparations, Schematic diagrams and preparation of BOQ
• Experience in relevant design software such as Auto CAD, REVIT, Navis work, Aecosim, microstation and IT Literacy
• Have good oral and written communication skills
