Job summary

Mafatlal Industries, Mumbai, seeks an Assistant Manager – Sales Account to manage customer receivables, post payments in SAP, and reconcile customer ledgers. You will coordinate with Sales/Commercial teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely postings.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in sales accounting, customer accounting or accounts receivable.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis.
• Working knowledge of SAP and GST fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Record customer receipts in SAP based on bank statements and remittance details.
• Ensure timely allocation of receipts against the appropriate customer invoices.
• Track unidentified receipts, short receipts and excess receipts and coordinate with the Sales/Commercial team for clarification.
• Perform customer account clearing and ensure unapplied receipts are reviewed periodically.
• Prepare customer ledger reconciliations and obtain balance confirmations wherever required.
• Reconcile customer accounts with statements, remittance advice and customer confirmations.
• Identify and resolve differences relating to short payments, deductions, debit notes, credit notes and unadjusted receipts.
• Ensure timely adjustment of customer advances and on-account receipts against outstanding invoices.
• Escalate unresolved differences and long-pending reconciliation items to the reporting manager
• Track pending credit notes, debit notes and customer claims.
• Ensure timely accounting and settlement of approved claims and deductions.
• Maintain proper documentation and an audit trail for all adjustments
• Ensure timely closure of open items and compliance with reporting deadlines
