Job summary

B L Kashyap and Sons (BLK) seeks a Quality/ Civil Engineer to oversee construction quality on high-rise commercial/residential projects in Chennai. You will implement general construction methodologies, monitor test procedures, and ensure compliance with standards.

Responsibilities include calibration of instruments, reviewing material testing certificates, conducting inspections, and submitting daily/ monthly quality reports to the QC Head.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• Experience with high-rise commercial/residential projects.
• Familiar with test procedures and standards.
• Ability to plan and implement QC processes.
• Strong communication and training aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming and in-process construction work.
• Check calibration of instruments and verify test certificates.
• Prepare and submit daily/monthly QC reports.
• Close NCRs within timelines.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams on quality matters.
• Train site engineers and foremen on quality practices.

Job description

• Knowledge of General Methodology of constructions like marking, checks for alignments, verticality, sequence of construction of concreting works, Block work constructions, Plastering works, etc.
• Familiar with test procedure and specification as per standard. Knowledge of RMC / Batching Plant experience & ISO requirements.
• To check for calibration of instruments and checking material testing certificates from the supplying agencies.
• Knowledge of good construction practices, Problem solving capability, Understanding root cause, and taking corrective & Preventive Measures, carrying out the rectification work as per approved methodology.
• Timely submission of daily/ monthly report quality on to QC Head.
• Plan and perform incoming and in process inspection and audit.
• Attain and close the NCR within stipulated time.
• Interaction with Clients, Internal & external Communications, Implementation of norms as laid down by the organization.
• Training to Engineers, Foremen, Supervisors, etc. on quality aspect of constructions on routine basis.

Preferred candidate profile -

Must have BE/B. tech degree in civil

Must have experience in High Rise Commercial/Residential building projects.
