Job summary

BVG India in Hinjewadi Phase 1, Pune, is seeking an Assistant Manager - Purchase to lead the FMS Commodity Purchase Team and oversee procurement operations. You will drive supplier negotiations, ensure smooth store activities, and maintain cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires 3-6 years of core experience in Purchase, a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), and strong communication skills. This is an on-site position based in Hinjewadi, Pune.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the FMS Commodity Purchase Team as a Team Leader.
• Handle procurement activities and ensure smooth purchasing operations for FMS commodities.
• Support and monitor day-to-day store activities, including routine follow-ups and coordination.
• Conduct supplier negotiations to achieve best commercial terms, quality, and delivery commitments.
• Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Act as a Management Representative during audits and ensure departmental compliance.
• Manage certification-related activities and coordinate with agencies for renewals.
• Drive team development by mentoring and strengthening the procurement team.
• Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.
• Take ownership of new initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement programs.
