Qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s degree is an added advantage for advanced roles.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive chemistry commissioning experience in power/energy sectors.
• Certification in Water Chemistry or Industrial Water Treatment preferred; HSE certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead chemistry commissioning activities during startup phases of power plants.
• Establish and manage chemical control programs for boiler feed water, cooling water, condensate, and other circuits.
• Perform detailed chemical analyses and interpret results to prevent corrosion and scaling.
• Collaborate with commissioning, operations, and maintenance teams to align chemical treatment with procedures.
• Develop and maintain chemical treatment procedures, commissioning plans, and safety protocols.
• Manage chemical inventory, procurement, and quality control for uninterrupted supply.
• Monitor key chemical parameters and report trends to senior management; propose improvements.
• Coordinate external laboratories and vendors for advanced testing and instrument calibration.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians to sustain high standards.
• Implement risk assessment and mitigation for chemical handling and commissioning activities.

Chemistry Commissioning will be responsible for comprehensive chemical management and commissioning activities, ensuring the plant’s chemical systems operate optimally and comply with regulatory standards

. The detailed responsibilities include:

• - Leading the chemistry commissioning activities during the startup phase of power plants, ensuring all chemical processes are implemented as per design and operational requirements

• - Conducting detailed chemical analysis and interpretation of results to identify potential issues such as corrosion, scaling, and contamination, implementing corrective measures proactively.
• - Collaborating closely with commissioning, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure chemical treatment aligns with operational procedures and optimizes plant performance
• - Developing and maintaining chemical treatment procedures, commissioning plans, and safety protocols in accordance with statutory and environmental regulations.
• - Managing chemical inventory, procurement, and quality control to ensure uninterrupted availability of chemicals essential for commissioning and operation.
• - Monitoring and reporting key chemical parameters and trends to senior management, recommending improvements to enhance plant reliability and safety

Qualifications

Education Qualification

• - Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. - Master’s degree or high

Certification Required

• - Certification in Water Chemistry or Industrial Water Treatment is preferred. - Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) certifications related to chemical handling are highly desirable.

Experience

• -Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in chemistry commissioning within the power or energy industry. - Proven track record in handling chemical analysis, water treatment, and commissioning protocols for thermal or renewable energy plants.er qualification in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering will be an added advantage.
