Job summary

WTE Infra Projects is seeking an experienced commissioning specialist to lead the start-up and handover of water and wastewater treatment facilities. You will plan, execute, and supervise commissioning activities across WTP, WWTP, STP, and ETP, coordinating with engineering, construction, quality, HSE, and client teams.

The role requires hands-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, and water treatment processes, including PLC/SCADA and VFDs.

Qualifications

• 48 years of relevant experience in commissioning of water and wastewater treatment plants.
• Hands-on experience in WTP, WWTP, STP, and/or ETP commissioning.
• Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, and water treatment processes.
• Experience with PLC, SCADA, VFD, field instrumentation, and control systems.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute commissioning activities for Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP).
• Develop commissioning procedures, method statements, commissioning schedules, and checklists.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Quality, HSE, and Client teams throughout commissioning and start-up activities.
• Verify mechanical completion and ensure system readiness prior to commissioning.
• Carry out pre-commissioning activities such as flushing, hydrotesting, cleaning, loop checking, and equipment inspection.
• Commission mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, and process equipment.
• Test and commission pumps, blowers, compressors, agitators, clarifiers, filters, chemical dosing systems, and associated equipment.
• Perform functional testing of PLC, SCADA, VFDs, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Conduct calibration and loop checking of field instruments.
• Monitor plant performance during start-up and optimize process parameters to achieve the required design capacity and performance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, and process-related issues during commissioning.
• Conduct Performance Guarantee Tests (PGT) and ensure compliance with contractual performance requirements.
• Prepare commissioning reports, punch lists, test records, and final handover documentation.
• Coordinate operator training and support the preparation of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, statutory regulations, project specifications, and quality standards.
• Support project close-out activities and final handover of the plant to the client.
