Job summary

Adani Power Ltd. is seeking a Chemistry Commissioning professional to oversee comprehensive chemical management and commissioning activities, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient plant operation.

The role focuses on leading startup-phase chemistry commissioning, establishing control programs for boiler feed water, cooling water, and condensates, plus rigorous analytical oversight and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Certification in Water Chemistry or Industrial Water Treatment preferred.
• HSE certifications related to chemical handling are desirable.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in chemistry commissioning in power/energy.
• Experience in chemical analysis, water treatment, and commissioning protocols for thermal or renewable plants.
• Advanced degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead chemistry commissioning activities during startup of power plants.
• Establish and manage chemical control programs for boiler feed water, cooling water, condensate, and other water circuits.
• Conduct detailed chemical analyses and interpret results to prevent corrosion, scaling, and contamination.
• Collaborate with commissioning, operations, and maintenance teams to align chemical treatment with procedures.
• Develop and maintain chemical treatment procedures, commissioning plans, and safety protocols.
• Manage chemical inventory, procurement, and quality control.
• Monitor key chemical parameters and report trends to senior management.
• Coordinate with external labs and vendors for testing, calibration, and validation of methodologies.
• Train and mentor junior chemistry engineers and technicians.
• Implement risk assessment and mitigation strategies for chemical handling and commissioning.
• Drive initiatives to optimize chemical usage and sustainability.
• Participate in audits and inspections and address findings promptly.

Qualifications

• Education Qualification: Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree or high
• Certification Required: Certification in Water Chemistry or Industrial Water Treatment is preferred.
• Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) certifications related to chemical handling are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in chemistry commissioning within the power or energy industry.
• Proven track record in handling chemical analysis, water treatment, and commissioning protocols for thermal or renewable energy plants.
