Job summary

Tata Communications is seeking a skilled BIM/structural designer to produce detailed AutoCAD drawings and BIM models for telecom towers, shelters, and equipment layouts. You will adapt to various operator standards, develop 2D/3D drawings, and ensure BEP compliance through robust QC checks.

Responsibilities include site layout and elevation planning, conducting clash-free design reviews, and preparing BOMs and fabrication drawings in BIM formats using Revit.

Job description

• Expertise in AutoCAD knowledge (2D drafting / Annotations, 3D modeling, layers, blocks/dynamic blocks, Xrefs, dimensioning, and plotting).
• Adapt to different operator standards and prepare detailed drawing plans (preliminary, detailed design Asbuilts) for telecom structures buildings.
• Follow SOP to develop and maintain structural drawings, building drawings, and detailed 2D/3D models using AutoCAD Autodesk Revit in BIM formats.
• Study and analyze all inputs from client to prepare include Structure information, Antenna details, Shelter information, Mount/strengthening structural drawing, Fabrication drawing, Lease area details and Technologies.
• Perform structural design and/or assessment of telecommunication structures and preparation of relevant documentation using Indian and international standards.

• Analysis of existing modifications for self-supporting towers such as half pipe attached to the leg members, member replacements and bracing changes. Provide modification/strengthening solutions in case of member failure.
• Analysis of anchor bolts and baseplates for telecommunication structures.

• Foundation design and analysis of various kinds of foundations such as isolated footing, mat footing, pile foundation etc.
• Produce high-quality structural drawing for Tower/Monopole, Shelters/ODU''s, Strengthening, Foundation Strengthening, Antenna/Dish/RRU Mount of wireless, telecom cell sites based on the design document, Survey information and Photos in AutoCAD .drg format Autodesk Revit in BIM formats.
• Quality audit existing photos, old site survey reports and hand sketch the drawing to match latest photos.
• Preparation of dynamic CAD blocks as per specifications.
• Perform quality checks (QC) on drawings and models to ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and technical documentation for production.
• Conduct design reviews and implement feedback for continuous improvement.
• Deliver documentation in DWG, PDF formats BIM formats and maintain version control with proper documentation of all CAD files.
• Understand 2G/3G/4G 5G concepts and interpret the RAN equipments from reports photos.
• Develop the excel tools for different types of manual calculations to be performed outside software being used.
• Preparation of cable schematics and electrical schematics from Antenna to BBU.
• Develop and maintain structural BIM models using tools like Autodesk Revit.
• Ensure models comply with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), project standards, and industry codes. Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to resolve design clashes using clash detection tools.
• Perform quality checks (QC) on BIM models for accuracy and completeness. Generate construction documentation and extract quantities for BOQ preparation.
• Support 4D (time) and 5D (cost) BIM integration for project planning and estimation.
• Assist in implementing BIM workflows and training team members on BIM standards.
