Job summary

Johnson Controls in Chennai seeks a field engineer to perform installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of systems under supervision. You will support intermediate-level design activities, review layouts, and assist in system integration and optimization.

You will coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery, safety, and quality, while maintaining site documentation and smooth operation across assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with relevant experience.
• Experience in field execution, system implementation, or maintenance.
• Good understanding of system integration and field operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform field execution activities including installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of systems under supervision.
• Support intermediate-level design activities, including reviewing system layouts, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Participate in project delivery by assisting in system integration, configuration, and optimization activities.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols during execution.

• Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance activities as part of O&M support.
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders for effective project execution.
• Maintain proper documentation of site activities, reports, and system changes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred) with minimum 5 year of relevant experience
• Experience: Exposure to field execution, system implementation, or maintenance activities; Basic understanding of system integration and configuration
• Required Skills & Competencies: Basic technical knowledge of systems installation and commissioning; Understanding of system integration and field operations; Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; Ability to work in field environments and handle site challenges; Good communication and coordination skills; Willingness to travel for site assignments

Preferred Skills

• Experience in HVAC / BMS / Fire / Security systems (if applicable)
• Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations
• Exposure to O&M (Operations & Maintenance) activities
