Job summary

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. in Nashik seeks an experienced Production Planner to develop and monitor production plans, create schedules, and ensure timely fulfillment while optimizing resources.

You will collaborate with procurement, SCM, and cross-functional teams to drive cost efficiency, manage transitions from development to production, and uphold quality and regulatory standards. 5–8 years of relevant experience and a mechanical engineering background are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical required.
  • 5-8 years general experience in manufacturing/production planning.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning and supply chain processes.
  • Experience with capacity planning and inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor and control production plans to meet customer needs.
  • Create and maintain production schedules from forecasts and inventories.
  • Ensure smooth execution of production activities and adherence to plans.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for new products, processes.
  • Manage product transitions from development to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Analyze labor, material, and manufacturing costs for decisions.
  • Drive cost optimization via planning, resources, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with procurement and SCM to ensure materials availability.
  • Identify new suppliers and sourcing strategies when designs vary.
  • Monitor inventory to maintain optimum stock and reduce obsolescence.
  • Analyze performance, capacity, efficiency; implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure quality, safety, regulatory compliance in manufacturing.
  • Drive continuous improvement to boost productivity and delivery.

Job description

  • Develop, monitor, and control production plans to ensure timely fulfillment of customer requirements while optimizing production resources.
  • Create and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, capacity, and material availability.
  • Ensure smooth execution of production activities and monitor adherence to production plans.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure new products and processes are effectively developed and ready for production.
  • Manage the transition of products from the development stage to full-scale manufacturing while ensuring quality and efficiency standards.
  • Calculate and analyze labor, material, manufacturing, and associated operational costs to support business decisions.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives through effective planning, resource utilization, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Identify and develop new suppliers and sourcing strategies when product designs fall outside established sourcing frameworks.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement actions to maintain optimum stock while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Analyze production performance, capacity utilization, and efficiency metrics, and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements within manufacturing operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, delivery performance, and customer satisfaction.
