Job summary

Bharat Forge Ltd in Pune is seeking a mechanical/aerospace engineer with forging experience to monitor NPD, manage APQP docs, and lead PFMEA/PPAP activities per AS9100. You will drive quality improvements, support audits, and train line operators while coordinating with supply chain for timely deliveries.

The role requires hands‑on use of CAD/CAM tools (CATIA/Siemens NX/SolidWorks) and SPC understanding to control process variations and maintain product integrity across programs.

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a BTech in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering and possess forging experience.
• Minimum 2 years of forging experience and 2 years in the aerospace industry are required.

Responsibilities

• Track and drive NPD activities from concept to production release.
• Prepare APQP documentation and manage multiple document types.
• Oversee change management and PLM-based configuration control.
• Lead PFMEA, PPAP, FAIR activities per AS9102 guidelines and ensure closure.
• Support audits, prepare for customer audits, and implement CAPAs.
• Train line operators and provide daily production support for quality improvements.
• Drive digital improvements and conduct TPM audits for equipment reliability.
• Manage supply chain activities to ensure timely material flow and address complaints.
• Perform line walks to ensure quality and safety adherence.
• Leverage CAD/CAM tools for manufacturing planning and tooling design.

Job description

• Track and manage NPD (New Product Development) activities, including coordination and execution of various tasks.
• Prepare and manage Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) documentation, involving over 10 different types of documents.
• Oversee change management processes to ensure smooth transitions and updates.
• Handle configuration management to maintain product and process integrity through PLM,
• Manage specification documentation and updates to align with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct and participate in customer technical quality (TQ) calls to address and resolve issues.
• Facilitate internal TQ calls to ensure quality standards and address internal concerns.
• Implement cost reduction strategies and improvements to enhance production efficiency.
• Review and establish process minimum standards and Special Monitoring Activities (SMA) for quality control.
• Perform and review Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify and mitigate risks.
• Hands on experience on First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) per AS9102 and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare for and support customer audits, addressing any findings and ensuring compliance.
• Provide training for line operators to enhance skills and knowledge related to quality and production processes.
• Offer daily production support to address any issues and ensure smooth operations.
• Implement and drive digital improvements to enhance production efficiency and data accuracy.
• Conduct Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) audits to ensure machine reliability and maintenance.
• Manage supply chain processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and components.
• Address and resolve customer complaints through effective problem-solving and corrective actions.
• Perform line walks to monitor production processes and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Added advantage would be knowledge on project management-PMP.
• Comprehensive understanding of the aerospace Quality Management System (QMS) standards like AS9100, AS13100 & Nadcap accreditation process.
• For ME machining, CAD/CAM Proficiency, Utilizing software like CATIA V5/V6, Siemens NX, or SolidWorks for manufacturing planning and tool design as required.
• Hands on experience in SPC tools (Cpk studies) to manage process variations.
