Job summary

Firstsource is seeking an Assistant Manager/Manager - Finance in Mumbai to manage and allocate corporate shared service costs across units. You will ensure accurate cost distribution, provide robust financial reporting, and support strategic decision-making through allocation methodologies.

The role requires CA and/or MBA in Finance with 5–8 years of FP&A, cost allocation, and reporting experience, plus strong Excel and ERP skills (SAP/Oracle/Dynamics).

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) and/or MBA (Finance) from a reputed institution.
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in FP&A, cost allocation, and related fields.
  • Strong cost accounting, financial reporting and management reporting knowledge.
  • Experience with shared service cost management and ERP systems such as SAP/Oracle/Dynamics.
  • Proficient in Excel and reporting tools like Power BI or Tableau.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present monthly management reports and dashboards on Facilities and IT costs.
  • Analyze function costs, identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
  • Ensure cost provision and accruals to avoid past period hits.
  • Manage end-to-end allocation of corporate overhead costs.
  • Develop, maintain, and review allocation methodologies and cost drivers.
  • Drive process improvements and automation in allocation and reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for corporate cost centers.
  • Partner with business finance teams to explain cost allocations and insights into cost drivers.
  • Monitor actual spend against budgets and provide variance analysis.

Job description

Reporting To: Director / Vice President - Finance

Role Purpose

The Assistant Manager/Manager - Finance will be responsible for managing and allocating corporate shared service costs, primarily Facilities and IT expenses, HR etc, across business units, regions, and functions. The role will ensure accurate cost distribution, financial transparency, cost analysis, and support strategic decision-making through robust allocation methodologies and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present monthly management reports and dashboards on Facilities and IT costs.
  • Analyze function costs and identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
  • Ensure cost provision and accruals are done to avoid past period one-time hits.
  • Manage end-to-end allocation of corporate overhead cost.
  • Develop, maintain, and periodically review allocation methodologies and cost drivers to ensure fairness and accuracy.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives in allocation and reporting activities.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for corporate cost centers.
  • Partner with business finance teams to explain cost allocations and provide insights into cost drivers.
  • Monitor actual spend against budgets and provide variance analysis.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) and/or MBA (Finance) from a reputed institution.
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in:
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Cost allocation and profitability analysis
  • Corporate finance or business finance
  • Shared service cost management
  • Financial reporting and management accounting
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting and management reporting.
  • Experience in allocation of shared services costs across business units.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting tools preferred.
