Job summary

IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) in Gurgaon seeks an Assistant Manager- ERM to develop, maintain, and coordinate the airline's Emergency Response Plan in line with DGCA/ICAO/IATA standards and readiness to manage aircraft accidents, incidents, and crises.

You will lead cross‑functional teams, supervise training and mock drills, and drive ERP documentation across domestic and international operations to ensure timely, compliant responses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• Certification in Emergency Response/SMS.
• 4–5 years in airline/airport ops, safety or ER.

Responsibilities

• Manage cross-departmental teams and act as liaison to ensure emergency response readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure emergency preparedness across all departments incl. airports and evaluate departmental plans.
• Ensure compliance with internal audits and regulatory inspections.
• Coordinate development and updating of the Company’s Emergency Response Manual with stakeholders.
• Develop quick-reference guides, flowcharts, and SOPs for emergencies.
• Ensure ERP is integrated with Domestic, Regional, International, and codeshare programs.
• Lead the Emergency Response Team and oversee training effectiveness.
• Oversee family assistance response (Go Team / FAT) and ERP assets.
• Coordinate company-wide emergency response exercises and reports with corrective actions.

Brief About The Role/ Team/ Candidate Requirement

The Assistant Manager of Emergency Response Management is responsible for developing, maintaining, and coordinating the airline's Emergency Response Plan to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (DGCA/ICAO/IATA) and readiness to manage aircraft accidents, serious incidents, and crisis situations. Acts as a key link between operations, ground handling, medical, security, and external agencies during emergencies and drills.

Qualification & Experience

• Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree
• Certification in Emergency Response/Crisis Management or SMS (Safety Management System)
• Experience:
• 4-5 years in airline/airport operations, safety, or emergency response
• Prior exposure to crisis management, mock drills etc.

Job responsibility

• Manage cross-departmental teams and act as liaison across departments to ensure emergency response preparedness and regulatory compliance
• Ensure emergency preparedness across every department, including airports, and direct evaluation of departmental emergency preparedness plans
• Ensure compliance with internal audits and regulatory inspections
• Direct research, review, and evaluation of external source materials on airline emergency operations and assistance programCoordinate to develop and update the Company’s Emergency Response Manual
• Coordinate to develop quick-reference guides, flowcharts, and SOPs for emergency
• Ensure emergency operations and assistance programs are integrated with Domestic, Regional, International, and codeshare partner programs and procedures
• Direct the development and operation of the Emergency Response Team
• Evaluate training effectiveness to ensure company-wide readiness
• Oversee and coordinate the Company’s family assistance response (Go Team / FAT)
• Manage the Go Team credit card program and all Emergency Plan assets
• Coordinate to develop and schedule company-wide emergency response exercises, manifest reconciliation exercises, and other ancillary exercises to test ERP readiness
• Evaluate exercise performance and submit Exercise Reports with corrective action plans
• Ensure comprehensive documentation of all drills, training sessions, and emergency activations
• Ensure readiness of emergency assets such as Go Kit, Command Center, and contact databases
