Job summary

EXL Talent Acquisition Team in Noida seeks a Back Office-Finance & Accounting professional to manage regulatory reporting and insurance accounting with a focus on timely closures.

Role requires 3–6 years of relevant experience, strong Excel and ERP familiarity, and ability to work under deadlines while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Experience with UK GAAP/Solvency II concepts and participation in audits and process improvements is desirable.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA/MBA or finance-related degree with 4-6 years in financial accounting and UK GAAP reporting
• Knowledge of regulatory reporting concepts and Solvency II principles
• Proficiency in Excel; ERP exposure (Oracle or similar)

Responsibilities

• Partner in setting the team’s strategic direction and assist in overall operations
• Own processes, reports, procedures, or products; SME for cross-functional processes
• Insurance accounting regulatory reporting experience preferred
• Review financial statements for entities and notes; conform to Solvency II & UK GAAP requirements
• Lead and develop staff; liaise with multiple departments during close
• Support audits by internal and external auditors; participate in special projects and ad-hoc reporting
• Understand client needs and proactively resolve issues; identify process improvements
• Ensure internal controls over statutory reporting and regulatory compliance
• Act as escalation point for operational issues

Job Description

The role requires critical thinking, hands on experience with Regulatory reporting & insurance accountingand capable of working with tight deadlines and manage closure of reporting timelines

Responsibilities

• Partnering in setting the team’s strategic direction and assisting in the overall running of the team’s operations
• Ownership of processes, reports, procedures, or products. Subject Matter Expert with knowledge of cross-function processes
• Insurance accounting regulatory reporting experience preferred
• Review and preparation of financial statements for various legal entity and Notes to accounts basis Solvency II & UK GAAP requirements
• Leadership and development of staff
• Liaison with multiple departments (Input providers) during the close to ensure timely completion of deliverables/Collaborate for special projects
• Support quarterly/annual audits by internal auditors, as well as independent external auditors
• Participate or lead special projects, initiatives, ad-hoc reporting, and analysis requests
• Understand & anticipate clients’ business needs/concerns, etc. & proactively resolve the same
• Identify process improvement opportunities to drive efficiencies and enhanced controls
• Ensure adequacy of internal controls over statutory reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Act as a point of escalation for any operational issues

Qualifications

• CA/CPA/MBA/Post-Graduate/Graduate in Finance with 4-6 years of experience in Financial Accounting & Reporting (UKGAAP Reporting)
• Knowledge of Regulatory reporting concepts including accounting standards
• Understanding of Insurance, Solvency II principles
• Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power BI etc.)
• ERP’s such as Oracle, Wdesk etc.

Required Skills

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
• Knowledge of IFRS and Solvency II reporting. Knowledge of Regulatory reporting, technical accounting principles and regulatory reporting requirements
• Sound knowledge and hands on experience with Advanced Excel and MS Access. Understanding closing and Reporting cycle in F&A Experience of handling client issues/queries
