Assistant Manager – EHV Electrical (Solar)

Job Description
We are developing solar, wind, and solar‑wind hybrid sites across India. If you have a deep understanding of site‑related management and operations on a day‑to‑day basis, and ensure that work is done safely, on time and to the right quality standards, join our enthusiastic team of professionals, who wish to be part of the energy transition for large‑scale solar and wind projects in India.
Role & Responsibilities
- Coordinate with local subcontractors for various sub‑tasks, particularly the mechanical, civil and electrical works.
- Ensure accurate and timely collection and recording of quality/work progress (photos, daily logs, etc.).
- Monitor progress, oversee delivery of materials, and arrange for safe storage. The Site Manager shall spend 70 % of the time working in the field, sometimes in extreme weather conditions.
- Coordinate from site to head office and implement project execution methodologies.
- Manage construction activities including arrangement of construction power, water, travel, accommodation, pantry, etc.
- Interpret civil, mechanical and electrical drawings and implement 66 KV and above EHV Project elements such as feeder bays, metering at grid substations, transmission lines and pooling substations.
- Manage skilled and un‑skilled workers/3rd‑party supervisors at site.
- Implement project schedule as per PM plan and strategy.
- Take site‑level decisions for construction progress, in compliance with quality checks and inspections before and during civil, electrical, and mechanical works.
- Understand erection, testing and pre‑commissioning checks of equipment (power transformers, HT panels, LT panels, SCADA, HV/EHV cables, metering system) and submit reports as required.
- Arrange required machinery for construction, handle material management and documentation.
- Manage vendor teams for their respective works on site.
- Implement regular plans of action, inspections, daily progress reporting, joint measurement sheet verification, etc.
- Coordinate with contractors and their teams at site.
- Resolve all types of ROWs of EHV works and manage tasks from end to end.
Qualifications
Qualification and Educational Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in erection, installation and supervision of electrical/EHV infrastructure projects of transmission lines and/or substations in various states of India.
- At least a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of overall work experience since graduation (10 years if diploma holder).
- Knowledge of civil, electrical, industrial automation codes and other associated codes/standards used in PV projects.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a multinational workforce in a dynamic situation and communicate directly.
Technical Expertise
- Knowledge and experience in construction of EHV substations and transmission lines up to 220 KV HV and LV systems; knowledge of latest work‑related manuals and relevant IS/CPWD standards of erection, installation and testing equipment and components.
- A personal commitment to a safe working environment for employees.
