Job summary

Exide Energy Solutions Limited (EESL) in Bengaluru/Devanahalli is seeking an AM – Safety to lead EHS programs in a manufacturing environment focused on EV/cell production. The role emphasizes developing procedures, risk assessment and incident prevention with strong collaboration with line management.

Ideal candidates have 4–8 years in EHS, a BE in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical, and government-recognized safety qualification. Site safety culture and ISO standards alignment are key priorities.

Qualifications

  • 4 to 8 years of professional experience in EHS (Safety).
  • Manufacturing site experience, preferably EV/cell manufacturing.
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical with Govt recognition for Safety Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Cooperate with internal resources to achieve EHS objectives.
  • Support risk assessments and define measures to control risks.
  • Prepare, implement and maintain emergency plans for the site.
  • Coordinate and control EHS activities with contractors and operations.
  • Provide guidance to site personnel to prevent injuries and incidents.
  • Assist in EHS training, inductions and toolbox talks.
  • Capture, report, investigate and analyze accidents to drive corrective actions.

Exide Energy Solutions Limited is looking for EHS (Safety) in the Manufacturing organisation to achieve company’s goal at the Devanahalli, Bangalore Location.

Job Overview

The position of AM – Safety, Standards & Procedure will be responsible for

  • Development of Standards & Procedures specific to Safety, such as LOTO, Electrical Safety, Machine
  • Safety, Battery / Cell Safety, Robot Safety, MOC, Machine Buy off etc…
  • Machine Buy-off; Management of Change – EHS
  • Machine Safety Expert
  • Digitization of EHS initiatives
  • Implementation of Standards in coordination with Line management.
  • Responsible for Trainings Line management
  • Incident Investigation In coordination with Line management.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Cooperate with the internal resources to achieve EHS objectives.
  • Support the Site EHS Manager to perform EHS Risk Assessment and to define
  • appropriate measures to control risks.
  • Support the EHS Site Manager to prepare, implement and maintain emergency plans.
  • Assist Site EHS Manager to coordinate and control activities with respect of EHS,
  • especially where interfaces are involved with other contractors or operation areas.
  • Provide support and advice to site personnel to prevent injury, damage to plant and
  • Recognize the best practices and the good performance.
  • Advise other Site personnel on all aspects of EHS applicable to site activities.
Develop Site EHS Management System
  • Support the Site EHS Manager to develop, deploy and maintain the local procedures
  • and tools and make sure they are aligned with EESL Standards and international
  • standards (ISO 14001 and ISO45001).
  • Support the Site EHS Manager to ensure that EESL EHS standards at Site level.
EHS Compliance
  • Assist the Site EHS Manager to ensure compliance of the site activities according to
  • the EHS Plan, guidelines and work instructions.
  • Perform EHS legal compliance checks for specific requirements.
Develop EHS culture in the site
  • Inform, instruct and train employees to carry out the work in safe & environment friendly
  • mode according to the method of statement.
  • Participate in the implementation of the site EHS training programs by providing EHS
  • inductions and ensuring Tool Box meetings are organized.
Report, Measure and Review
  • Support the EHS Site Manager to capture, report, record, investigate and analyze
  • accidents/incidents in order to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support the preparation of monthly EHS reports. Can be in charge of feeding EHS
  • reporting system in line with reporting requirements and under control by Site EHS
  • manager.
  • Carry out inspections of work areas and carry out EHS audits and report any
  • discrepancy.
Desired Profile:
  • Professional experience 4 to 8 years in EHS (Safety)
  • Highly recommended experience for manufacturing sites specific to EV, & Cell Manufacturing.
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical)
  • Approved / Qualification recognized by the Govt of India / State Govt (Karnataka) in Industrial for Safety Officer
