Job description

Job Title: Senior Executive/ Executive - HSSE

Department: HSSE

Location: India (Corporate and field operations)

Reporting to: Head HSSE

Job Purpose:

The Senior Executive/ Executive – HSSE is responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) systems across EV logistics operations. The role ensures compliance with statutory requirements, company HSSE policies, client standards, and ESG commitments while promoting a strong safety culture across EV fleets, charging infrastructure, and transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety

Implement HSSE policies, SOPs, and safe work practices across EV logistics operations.

Conduct risk assessments / HIRA / JSA for EV operations, battery handling, charging stations, and transport activities.

Ensure compliance with Factories Act, Motor Vehicles Act, OSHA norms, State Safety Rules, and client safety requirements.

Carry out site safety inspections, audits, and toolbox talks.

Monitor contractor and vendor safety performance.

Support implementation of permit-to-work, LOTO, electrical safety, and working-at-height controls.

2. EV‑Specific Safety & Fire Risk Management

Ensure safe handling, charging, storage, and transportation of lithium‑ion batteries.

Support EV fire prevention, thermal runaway controls, and emergency response planning.

Coordinate fire safety systems, mock drills, and liaison with local fire authorities.

Monitor charging infrastructure safety (earthing, insulation, signage, access control).

Report, investigate, and analyze incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts/conditions.

Prepare RCA reports, corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.

Track closure of actions and trend analysis for management review.

4. Environment & Sustainability

Support implementation of Environmental Management System (EMS).

Monitor waste management, including battery waste, e‑waste, oil, and hazardous waste as per CPCB/SPCB norms.

Support ESG initiatives related to carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainability reporting.

Ensure compliance with Battery Waste Management Rules, environmental consents, and renewals.

Conduct HSSE inductions for employees, drivers, technicians, and contractors.

Organize safety campaigns, posters, and behavior‑based safety initiatives.

Support competency development for EV safety and emergency response.

6. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain HSSE records, registers, and statutory documentation.

Prepare monthly HSSE MIS, dashboards, and KPIs.

7. Stakeholder Coordination

Coordinate with operations, fleet, charging, HR, and external agencies.

Support client audits and inspections.

Liaise with statutory bodies when required.

Qualifications & Experience
Education
  • BE / BTech / Diploma in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Safety preferred)
  • NEBOSH / ADIS / IOSH / Diploma in Industrial Safety – preferred
Experience
  • 3–5 years in HSSE roles
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, EV, e‑mobility, warehousing, or infrastructure projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of Indian HSSE laws & EV safety standards
  • Good communication and training skills
  • Data analysis & reporting
  • Proactive, field‑oriented approach
