Job summary

Honour Lab in Pune district seeks a Chemical Engineer to address technical deviations and perform calculations for heat loads, pipe sizing, and energy usage. You will design production blocks with PFDs/P&IDs, select equipment, and ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will drive quality, lead PSSR tasks, support QMS for batches, train chemists, and enable scale-up and tech transfers from Lab to Plant. Knowledge of energy conservation and automation is valuable.

Qualifications

• Experience in chemical engineering calculations for production blocks.
• Ability to design and analyse process blocks with PFDs and P&IDs.
• Knowledge of energy consumption, heat load, and equipment sizing.

Responsibilities

• Handle technical/process deviation issues in production blocks.
• Perform chemical engineering calculations like heat load, pipe sizing, equipment sizing, and energy consumption.
• Select equipment for operation with approved calculations and capacity enhancements.
• Prepare detailed design of new production blocks including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and spacing.
• Ensure product quality per predefined standards and drive quality improvements.
• PSSR for new products before first batch charging and address safety recommendations.
• Complete QMS activities for batch starts and ensure on-time delivery.
• Train chemists on new equipment operations and energy conservation.
• Commissioning for new products/processes with automation logic.
• Scale up and technology transfers from Lab/Pilot to Plant scale.
• Compute material balances of solvents weekly and monthly.
• Analyze batch times, identify bottlenecks, and enhance capacity.
• Provide technical support to production, engg services & ETP.

Job description

Handling technical/process deviation issues in production blocks.

Perform Chemical engineering calculations like heat load, pipeline sizes, sizing of equipments, and energy consumption.

Equipment selection for operation/processes with approved calculations. And capacity enhancement calculations.

Preparing detailed design of new production blocks including PFDs, P&ID’s, equipment layouts, and equipment selection & spacing.

Ensuring all new products’ quality is as per the predefined standards and continuously working with team to get the best quality for every batch.

PSSR for all new products completed, before first batch charging of the Champaign and addressed all safety recommendations.

All QMS activities for batch starting completed before planned start date.

Continuously working with team to ensure all tasks. Batches are completed on time with

zero to minimum delay and continuously working to reduce any identified delay to ensure the delivery of all products to clients is on time.

Training chemists regarding new equipment’s operations and energy conservation.

Commissioning for new products/processes with automation logic.

Scale ups and technology transfers from Lab/Pilot to Plant scale.

Material balances of solvents in production blocks on a weekly and monthly basis.

Calculate and analyze batch time cycles, identify bottle necks & eliminate the same for enhancing the same capacity.

Technical support to production, Engg services & ETP as & when required knowledge of PPE.
