Job summary
Tata Communications is seeking an engineer to support, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain VoIP platforms, containerized apps, and DevOps environments in Bengaluru. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, electronics & communication, or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, VoIP, Platform Support, or related domains.
- Exposure to AWS, Kubernetes, Linux administration, and VoIP technologies.
- Relevant AWS, Kubernetes, Linux, or DevOps certifications will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Support and troubleshoot VoIP/SIP-based platforms.
- Manage and maintain VoIP components (Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio).
- Analyze call flow, SIP signaling, and media issues using Wireshark.
- Monitor platform health and ensure high availability of services.
- Deploy and manage containerized apps with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Support CI/CD pipeline implementation and maintenance.

The Engineer will be responsible for supporting, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining infrastructure, VoIP platforms, containerized applications, and DevOps environments. This role requires working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of communication platforms and cloud-based services. The individual will contribute to infrastructure automation, CI/CD processes, system administration, and operational excellence while continuously enhancing platform stability and performance.
- Support and troubleshoot VoIP/SIP-based communication platforms.
- Manage and maintain VoIP components including Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, and Kamailio.
- Analyze call flow, SIP signaling, and media issues using Wireshark and related monitoring tools.
- Investigate and resolve customer-reported voice quality, routing, and connectivity issues.
- Monitor platform health and ensure high availability of communication services.
- Support AWS cloud infrastructure and associated networking services.
- Work with AWS services including:
- EC2
- EKS
- S3
- Elastic Load Balancer (ELB)
- Assist in provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing cloud resources.
- Support cloud networking, DNS, security groups, NACLs, and WAF configurations.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Docker Compose.
- Support Kubernetes environments including:
- Containers and Pods
- Namespaces
- Services

- Node Groups
- Auto Scaling
- Helm Charts
- ConfigMaps
- Assist in cluster monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Support CI/CD pipeline implementation and maintenance.

- Manage source code repositories, branching strategies, tagging, releases, and version control practices.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell and Python.
- Participate in deployment planning and production releases.

- Execute administration and troubleshooting activities using Linux and Windows CLI commands.
- Monitor system performance, logs, and resource utilization.
- Maintain system configurations and perform routine maintenance activities.
- Support networking components including HTTP/TCP proxy servers.
- Understand and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, routing, DNS, and connectivity issues.
- Assist in implementing security best practices related to:
- SSL/TLS
- Security Groups
- Network Access Controls
- Vulnerability Assessments and Penetration Testing (VAPT)
- Ensure compliance with security and operational standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and SDLC activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, and support teams.
- Document troubleshooting procedures, deployment processes, and operational runbooks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and automation opportunities.
