Job summary

DMart is seeking an Assistant Manager Civil-Maintenance to oversee civil upkeep across a dispersed regional portfolio of stores. The role requires BE in Civil Engineering and 4+ years' experience in large organisations, with hands-on knowledge of masonry, waterproofing, painting and fabrication.

You will lead a team of vendors, coordinate for timely completion, visit sites, plan preventive maintenance, and prepare estimates and budgets for minor works while ensuring zero leakages.

Qualifications

• Mandatory BE in Civil Engineering.
• Good understanding of Civil Masonry, Waterproofing, Painting and Fabrication.
• Ability to plan and monitor preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Experience handling work across multiple locations and managing vendors.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and upkeep of civil assets across a dispersed region (10–15 stores).
• Coordinate with vendors for timely, quality work; interact remotely as needed.
• Visit stores regularly to identify problem areas and plan preventive actions.
• Track and monitor resolution of defects reported by stores.
• Coordinate waterproofing, roof gutters, drainages to reduce leakages.
• Prepare estimates and budgets for minor works; ensure plumbing is in good condition.

Assistant Manager Civil-Maintenance

Job Description

The position is a regional position and will be responsible for Civil related maintenance of existing D Mart Facilities spread over a dispersed area of approx. (about 10 to 15 stores across various cities) through a team of vendors. An average store is approx. 40,000 Sft built up area with about 150-200 staff working in each store. The job would broadly entail:

Maintenance and Upkeep of Civil Assets in the region (Building / Plumbing / Waterproofing / Tiling / Painting / Fabrication / Glazing etc.)

• Extensive engagement with the store team in case of reported defects to identify likely causes and suggest solutions to tackle the same.
• Coordination with vendors to ensure timely completion of work with focus on quality. Quite often the interaction is to be done from a remote location, build rapport & relationship with vendors so as to ensure timely resolution of the breakdown.
• Visit stores regularly to identify potential problem areas so as to address them in a planned manner.
• Track and monitor resolution of issues reported by Stores.
• Co-ordinate with stores to carryout various activities related to waterproofing, roof gutters, drainages, etc to have zero leakages in stores.
• Preparation of estimate & budget for minor works.
• Wash rooms, plumbing should be in good condition all the time.
