Job summary

WNS in Pune, India, seeks an experienced F&A professional to join our Insurance Accounting team and support London Market processes. The role requires strong R2R, GL Close, and balance sheet reconciliation skills, plus advanced Excel proficiency for financial analysis.

You will drive month-end and quarter-end close activities, manage sub-ledgers, and contribute to process improvements while working with clients and cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in Finance & Accounting operations.
• Hands-on in Record to Report, GL Close, and Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
• Strong Insurance Accounting experience, especially London Market processes.
• Advanced MS Excel and finance applications.
• Knowledge of Lloyd’s of London work structure and insurance operations.
• Ability to lead teams and provide business insights.

Responsibilities

• Record and manage premium income (Written, Earned, Unearned Premium).
• Record and monitor claims expenses (Paid Claims, Case Reserves, IBNR).
• Process reinsurance transactions (Ceded Premiums, Recoverables).
• Ensure COA mapping from source systems is accurate and maintained.
• Maintain and reconcile sub-ledgers with the General Ledger.
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Post accruals, deferrals, and adjustment journal entries.
• Review trial balances and investigate variances.

Insurance Accounting Responsibilities:

• Review and validate trial balances and investigate variances.
• Ensure timely completion of close activities as per the close calendar.
