Job summary

Qualifications

• 12 to 15 years of rich experience in Plant Commercial, Manufacturing Finance, or Plant Controlling.
• Hands-on SAP S/4HANA implementation/rollout experience in a manufacturing setup.
• Strong command of FI/CO modules and Advanced Excel.
• Ability to lead and mentor a high-performance plant accounts team.
• Excellent communication with floor managers and executive leadership.

Job Description: Assistant General Manager (AGM) Plant Commercial & Financial Controller

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned, hands-on finance leader to take complete ownership of the Plant Commercial & Financial Control function for our Conductor Division in Gujarat. Reporting directly to the Accounts, Finance & Commercial Head.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between physical factory operations and financial excellence. You will oversee plant-level books, manage robust inventory controls, lead statutory and internal audits, and optimize working capital. A core focus of this role will be leveraging your past experience to drive, optimize, or streamline our SAP S/4HANA ecosystem at the manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities

1. Commercial & Financial Management

• Lead end-to-end plant commercial operations, financial budgeting, forecasting, and plant cost-control measures.
• Prepare, analyze, and present timely monthly/weekly plant MIS reports to senior leadership.
• Monitor plant-level cash flows and optimize working capital cycles.

2. Inventory & Product Costing

• Establish ironclad controls over raw material, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and finished goods inventories.
• Lead regular physical verification of inventory and drive the timely closure of Material Balance/MIP reports.
• Partner with the supply chain and procurement teams to optimize inventory turnover and drastically minimize slow or non-moving stock.
• Oversee manufacturing product costing, variance analysis, and yield tracking.

3. SAP S/4HANA Excellence

• Utilize your prior SAP S/4HANA implementation/rollout experience to ensure business processes, cost centers, and asset management parameters are optimally mapped within the plant environment.
• Troubleshoot system-data mismatches between physical production floor outputs and SAP FI/CO records.

4. Compliance & Audit Management

• Take total ownership of plant-level tax compliances, including end-to-end GST management and reconciliation.
• Serve as the primary plant lead for internal, statutory, and tax auditors, ensuring zero-defect documentation and timely closure of audit observations.
• Continuously strengthen internal control frameworks across the factory floor.

5. Business Partnering & Leadership

• Collaborate cross-functional with Production, SCM, Procurement, and Sales to evaluate capital investments (Capex) and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and build a high-performance team across plant accounts, billing, and costing functions.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

• Experience: 12 to 15 years of rich experience in Plant Commercial, Manufacturing Finance, or Plant Controlling.
• Systems Mandate: Proven, hands-on experience participating in at least one SAP S/4HANA (or legacy SAP) implementation,or major site migration within a manufacturing setup. Strong command of FI/CO modules and Advanced Excel is required.
• Soft Skills: A strong, business-oriented mindset with the ability to confidently communicate and influence both floor-level plant managers and corporate executive leadership.
