Job summary

Aka Logistics is seeking a seasoned financial and commercial leader to act as the focal point for O&M projects, driving profitability and contractual compliance. You will oversee budgeting, cash flow, and commercial terms, while coordinating with site teams and clients.

The role requires CA with 10–15 years’ experience in related domains, sharp analytical skills, and strong negotiation and leadership abilities to guide cross-functional teams and deliver board-ready insights.

Qualifications

• CA with 10–15 years of experience in accounts, finance, commercial, or contract management.
• Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, project accounting, budgeting, taxation, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial management and control across projects, including profitability, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Manage commercial operations: billing, revenue realization, receivables, and contractual terms.
• Review and monitor customer contracts, subcontracts, and service agreements; track deviations and change orders.
• Provide cost control and performance monitoring: analyze costs, identify optimization opportunities, and track project margins.
• Prepare MIS and management reports for Director O&M; present dashboards on revenue, cost, profitability, receivables, and cash flow.
• Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, HR, Legal, and Project teams; liaise with clients on billing and payments.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, taxation, internal controls, audits, and delegation of authority.
• Provide strategic support to Director O&M: financial/commercial analysis for new opportunities, budgeting, and risk mitigation.

Role & responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Control

• Monitor project-wise profitability, budgets, and financial performance.
• Review monthly financial statements, cost reports, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and company policies.
• Track cash flow, working capital, and fund utilization across projects.
• Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises.

2. Commercial Operations

• Oversee billing, invoicing, certification, and revenue realization from clients.
• Monitor receivables and coordinate with site teams for timely collections.
• Review commercial terms of O&M contracts and identify financial risks.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations related to payment milestones and claims.
• Support preparation and evaluation of commercial proposals, tenders, and amendments.

3. Contract Management

• Review customer contracts, subcontracts, and service agreements.
• Monitor contract performance, deviations, and change orders.
• Support claim management, dispute resolution, and contract closure activities.
• Maintain records of contractual commitments and obligations.

4. Cost Control & Performance Monitoring

• Analyze manpower, maintenance, consumables, and overhead costs.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and productivity improvement.
• Monitor project margins and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and track financial KPIs for O&M projects.

5. MIS & Management Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS reports for the Director O&M.
• Present project performance dashboards covering revenue, cost, profitability, receivables, and cash flow.
• Provide analytical inputs for management reviews and strategic decision-making.
• Coordinate with site commercial teams for timely data collection and reporting.

6. Coordination with Stakeholders

• Liaise with Finance, Procurement, HR, Legal, and Project Teams.
• Coordinate with clients regarding billing, payments, and commercial matters.
• Support site commercial personnel in resolving contractual and financial issues.
• Assist the Director in commercial negotiations and business reviews.

7. Compliance & Governance

• Ensure adherence to statutory regulations, taxation requirements, and internal controls.
• Facilitate internal and external audits.
• Monitor compliance with delegated authority matrices and approval processes.
• Ensure proper documentation and record management.

8. Strategic Support to Director O&M

• Provide financial and commercial analysis for new business opportunities.
• Support business planning, project mobilization, and expansion initiatives.
• Prepare presentations, board notes, and management reports for senior leadership.
• Track key business risks and recommend mitigation measures.

Preferred candidate profile

Desired Qualification & Experience

• CA
• 10-15 years of experience in Accounts, Finance, Commercial, or Contract Management.
• Preference for experience in Thermal Power Plants, O&M Services, EPC, Infrastructure or Energy Sector.
• Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, project accounting, budgeting, taxation, and financial analysis.
