Aka Logistics seeks a Regional Business Head - Operations & Maintenance (O&M) for thermal power plants across the region. You will lead safety, reliability, efficiency, and profitability across multiple sites.

You will own P&L, drive revenue growth, manage client relationships, and ensure contract compliance while building leadership and growth across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Power Engineering with 18-25 years in Thermal Power Plant Operations & Maintenance.
• MBA (Operations/Finance) preferred for senior leadership roles.
• Proven experience in leading multiple sites, P&L ownership, client relationship management, and contract/commercial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage O&M for thermal power plants across the region, driving safety, reliability, efficiency, and profitability.
• Own P&L, revenue growth, and budgets; monitor financials and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee operations, maintenance, and performance parameters; drive continuous improvement and best practices.
• Manage client relationships, contract reviews, and renewals; coordinate with finance and commercial teams.

Purpose of the Role :

To lead and manage the overall Operations & Maintenance (O&M) business of thermal power plants within the assigned region, ensuring safe, reliable, efficient, and profitable operations. The role is responsible for business performance, client relationship management, contract compliance, operational excellence, financial results, manpower management, and business growth across multiple sites.

Role Objective:

To ensure that all thermal power plant O&M projects in the region operate safely, efficiently, contractually, and profitably while driving business growth and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Business Leadership & P&L Management

• Own the Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for all O&M projects within the region.
• Drive revenue growth, profitability, and business sustainability.
• Ensure achievement of annual business plans, budgets, and performance targets.
• Monitor project-wise financial performance and implement corrective actions where required.
• Optimize operational costs while maintaining service quality and contractual commitments.

2. Operations Management

• Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of thermal power plants.
• Monitor key operational parameters including:
  • Plant Availability
  • Plant Load Factor (PLF)
  • Heat Rate
  • Auxiliary Power Consumption
  • Forced Outage Rate
  • Maintenance Compliance
• Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Review site performance regularly and implement best practices across all locations.

3. Client Relationship Management

• Act as the primary interface with clients for all regional O&M projects.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure high client satisfaction.
• Lead commercial discussions, contract reviews, and business meetings.
• Address client concerns and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Support contract renewals and business expansion opportunities.

4. Contract & Commercial Management

• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and performance guarantees.
• Monitor billing, revenue realization, receivables, and cash flow.
• Review commercial risks and support claim management.
• Ensure timely submission of reports, invoices, and contractual deliverables.
• Coordinate with commercial and finance teams to improve profitability.

5. Manpower & Resource Management

• Ensure availability of competent manpower across all projects.
• Review manpower planning, recruitment, training, and succession planning.
• Develop leadership capabilities of Site Heads and functional leaders.
• Monitor productivity and workforce optimization initiatives.
• Promote employee engagement and retention.

6. Business Development & Growth

• Identify new O&M business opportunities within the region.
• Support tendering, proposal preparation, and customer presentations.
• Participate in techno-commercial discussions with prospective clients.
• Develop strategies for market expansion and customer acquisition.
• Support mobilization of newly awarded projects.

7. Governance & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory regulations, and quality standards.
• Conduct periodic site reviews and management audits.
• Monitor compliance with labor laws, environmental regulations, and contractual requirements.
• Ensure timely closure of audit observations and compliance gaps.

8. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

• Review monthly business performance across all projects.
• Present operational and financial performance reports to senior management.
• Develop and monitor KPIs for operational, financial, and customer performance.
• Drive accountability and performance culture throughout the region.
