Job description

Overview

As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of the Finance team. You will work closely with various teams and HQ in ensuring the completion and accuracy of all financial reporting while being in compliance with the local tax/audit regulatory. Your deliverables to the finance department will contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the business.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all finance and accounting matters (A/P, A/R, GL, FA)
  • Monthly and annual closure of books and preparation of reporting schedules
  • Prepare accurate financial statement and schedules in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Support, coordinate and compile documentation for statutory audit, tax audit
  • Ensure effective internal control procedures and adherence of accounting standards, group company policies and statutory requirements
  • Reconcile any discrepancies arising between the system and finance records, proactively seeking solutions to identify and minimize the differences
  • Manage Accounts Payables - document management, invoice processing, vendor maintenance, database corrections of vendor information, handling reconciliations, etc.
  • Ensure all vendor / employee payables / statutory payments are processed timely
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for various tax compliances. This includes preparation of required data and solving additional queries
  • Collaborate with HQ Finance and Tax to ensure local practices are in accordance with Group’s policies and local regulations
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process. Track budget vs actuals, analyse variances
  • Prepare and manage the cash flow forecasts and projections to effectively manage cash balances
  • Communicate with auditors, tax authorities, banks, foreign exchange office and other external parties
  • Prepare and deliver MIS reports for leadership and business units
  • Engage business/ system improvement process to identify inefficiencies, suggest/ assist to implement business/ system improvement process for better controls and governance
  • Any other tasks and projects assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Accounting/ related discipline or other related professional qualification in accounting, such as Chartered Accountant
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, financial preparation, compliance and audit coordination
  • Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standard and taxation laws
  • Solid accounting knowledge and local audit regulations
  • Proficiency in excel, Oracle/SAP and MIS tools
  • Hands on experience in handling corporate tax and GST compliances
  • Ability to manage audit queries and coordinate with external auditors effectively
  • Experience working in a Big 4/ multinational company and working with Global teams are preferred
  • Service-oriented and conscientious, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, as this role involves communication with HQ
  • Strong understanding of financial automation tools and process optimization
