Job summary

Wabtec in Rohtak, India seeks a senior Quality leader to drive quality assurance across production, interfaces with customers on issues, and ensure the QMS/IRIS system is properly deployed at the site.

You will coach site managers, monitor KPIs, and lead quality gates for new projects while aligning with group quality strategy and EHS standards.

Qualifications

• Education: B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: 10–15 years in Quality, incl. leadership.
• Industry: Railways, Automotive or Aerospace preferred.
• Languages: English essential; Hindi helpful.

Responsibilities

• Represent Customer on Quality matters and act as voice of customer at site.
• Promote Quality and Safety culture onsite and drive KPI targets.
• Lead Quality improvement plans and APQP-driven projects.
• Coordinate QMS/IRIS implementation and audits at the site.
• Coach site managers to achieve customer satisfaction and quality delivery.
• Monitor and improve Quality KPIs and maintenance of audit trails.

Job description

Key missions of the position:

• Monitor and validate the conformity of products / processes in production
• Customer interface for Quality issues (current production) with customers’ sites
• Ensure that the quality System is respected
• Coach site managers to achieve customer satisfaction for Quality
• Ensure that Quality KPI’s targets are met
• Ensure the full deployment of group Quality strategy within the site
• Ensure QMS/IRIS certification at site.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities

• Represent Customer within Wabtec on Quality matters (Communication / Escalation) > “voice of customer” inside the plant
• Promote Quality & Safety Culture at site.
• Develop and coordinate the site Quality Improvement plan following guidelines from Group and Activity
• Contribute to the implementation of WMS methodologies in the site
• Monitor and Improve Quality Performance Indicators(KPI’s) of site
• Ensuring the implementation of Quality VSM
• Regular visit at customer site to understand the VOC and implement the actions accordingly.
• Manage Incidents (0 Km, Logistic and warranty) Internally and with Customer
• Ensure that reactivity to treat customers’ issues is respected:
• - 48 hrs for containment activities
• - 10 days for analysis and action plans definition
• - 30 days for learning and sharing
• Conduct Process / Product / LPA/ System Audit /QMS/IRIS audit periodically and improve accordingly.
• Ensure that projects are launched according APQP steps .
• Leading Quality gates from quality site for new projects.
• Follow up the Quality of major product/process changes within the sites.(ECR/ECO process)
• Ensure the escalation of major quality & safety issues to B&S division, if necessary
• Improve the skill of the team like- root cause analysis, problem solving etc.
• Support & Guide the SQA team to Manage inspection controls, Quality Incidents to secure the production lines
• Ensure the reliability of the quality data, using WIM (Wabtec Incidents Management) data base
• Make sure that customers quality data are tracked and followed closely, to be in line with the customer’s appraisal of Wabtec performance
• Provided with the authority for concession/ rework approvals
• Provided with organizational freedom to resolve matters pertaining to Quality, EHS as well as IMS and to Stop development / production / delivery / field support activities etc., if Product Quality & EHS as well as IMS requirements are not met & organizational policies are not adhered
• Ensure regular monitoring of customer inspection day to day basis and ensure timely dispatch the material as per plan. Also close the open issue during 3rd party inspection.
