Job summary

WSP GCC HK Advisory seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical & ICT team, delivering designs from concept to detailed design for major multi‑disciplinary projects including water treatment plants, buildings, infrastructure, highways, rail and metro systems.

You will prepare electrical designs, perform load calculations, develop schematics, and ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards while coordinating with other disciplines. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and client involvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate electrical engineer with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in design consultancy, EPC projects or industrial projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical designs, layouts, and schematics for projects.
• Perform load calculations, cable sizing and equipment selection.
• Develop single‑line diagrams, wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
• Design power distribution systems, lighting systems and earthing systems.
• Conduct short‑circuit analysis, voltage drop and protection coordination studies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (IEC, NEC, BS, IEEE, etc.).
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil and project teams for integrated design.
• Review vendor drawings and technical submittals.
• Support project execution, installation and commissioning activities.
• Prepare technical documentation, BOQs and specifications.
• Engage with clients, contractors and design team members in technical discussions, coordination and debates.
• Promote technical excellence across projects.
• Develop positive professional relationships with the HK WSP team & clients, communicating progress.
• Embed Health & Safety into all work practices in line with company policies.

Responsibilities

Key Competencies & Mandatory Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and power systems.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, AMTECH, EPLAN, Dialux, MATLAB, ELUM TOOL.
• Understanding of LV/MV/HV systems, switchgear, transformers and protection systems.
• Knowledge of electrical standards and safety regulations.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience in sectors such as buildings, infrastructure, power or oil & gas.
• Familiarity with BIM tools (Revit MEP).
• Knowledge of energy efficiency and green building standards.
