Job summary

WSP GCC HK Advisory is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical & ICT team supporting WSP HK Advisory business in delivering designs from concept to detailed design for major multi-disciplinary projects such as sewage water treatment plants, buildings, infrastructure, highways, rail, metro rail and mainline railway.

You will prepare electrical designs, perform load calculations, develop single-line diagrams, coordinate with other disciplines, review vendor submittals and contribute

Qualifications

• Graduate electrical engineer with at least 4 years of relevant design experience.
• Experience in design consultancy, EPC projects or industrial projects preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, ETAP, AMTECH, EPLAN, Dialux, MATLAB and ELUM TOOL.
• Knowledge of LV/MV/HV systems, switchgear, transformers and protection coordination.
• Familiar with IEC, NEC, BS, IEEE codes and safety regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical designs, layouts and schematics for projects.
• Perform load calculations, cable sizing and equipment selection.
• Develop single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
• Design power distribution, lighting and earthing systems.
• Conduct short-circuit analysis, voltage drop and protection studies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil and project teams for integrated design.
• Review vendor drawings and technical submittals.
• Support project execution, installation and commissioning activities.
• Prepare technical documentation, BOQs and specifications.
• Engage with clients, contractors and design team members in technical discussions.
• Promote technical excellence across projects.
• Develop positive professional relationships with HK WSP team & clients.
• Embed Health & Safety into all work practices.

Key Competencies & Mandatory Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and power systems.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, AMTECH, EPLAN, Dialux, MATLAB, ELUM TOOL.
• Understanding of LV/MV/HV systems, switchgear, transformers and protection systems.
• Knowledge of electrical standards and safety regulations.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience in sectors such as buildings, infrastructure, power or oil & gas.
• Familiarity with BIM tools (Revit MEP).
• Knowledge of energy efficiency and green building standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate electrical engineer with minimum 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in design consultancy, EPC projects or industrial projects preferred.
