Job Description
A Trainee Nursing professional is responsible for learning and supporting nursing services under the supervision of qualified nursing personnel. The involves assisting with patient care, monitoring patients, maintaining documentation, supporting clinical procedures, participating in training programs, and developing professional nursing competencies while adhering to patient-safety and infection-control standards.
- Assist nursing staff in providing patient care under supervision.
- Observe and learn nursing procedures, protocols, and clinical practices.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and observations as assigned.
- Assist patients with hygiene, comfort, positioning, and mobility needs.
- Prepare patients for examinations, investigations, and procedures.
- Support medication administration activities under the guidance of authorized nursing staff.
- Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and transportation as directed.
- Maintain accurate patient-care records and assigned documentation.
- Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge-related activities.
- Support nursing staff during clinical procedures and patient-care interventions.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of patient-care areas.
- Ensure availability of basic nursing supplies and consumables.
- Follow infection-prevention, hand-hygiene, and biomedical-waste management practices.
- Observe patient conditions and promptly report concerns to supervising nurses.
- Participate in shift handovers and nursing team communication.
- Assist during emergency situations within assigned responsibilities and training.
- Coordinate with nursing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and support departments as directed.
- Participate in orientation, training, competency-development, and educational programs.
- Maintain patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
- Follow hospital policies, nursing SOPs, safety requirements, and professional standards.
