Job summary

Vaaman Engineers seeks an experienced Asset Management Leader to design and drive comprehensive asset management strategies across our heavy industrial operations. You will oversee condition monitoring, reliability initiatives, and maintenance governance to optimize plant performance and uptime.

The role requires 10+ years in asset management or reliability-focused roles, with at least 5 years in leadership, and strong experience with CMMS/EAM and Six Sigma methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical/industrial engineering or related field.
  • Advanced degree or certification in asset management is a plus.
  • 10+ years in asset management, reliability engineering or maintenance in heavy industry.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Apply reliability engineering to improve equipment availability.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Management:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive asset management strategies and programs.
  • Ensure the effective maintenance and utilization of plant assets to achieve optimal performance and longevity.
  • Carry out online/offline condition monitoring of critical equipment (vibrations, temperature, lubrication, wear).
  • Monitor vendor performance KPIs (quality, response time, cost, service reliability).
  • Training & Development, Awareness sessions.
Lean Strategies:
  • Identify opportunities for improving asset performance and efficiency.
  • Implement optimization projects and initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
Reliability Engineering:
  • Apply reliability engineering principles to improve equipment reliability and availability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) to address recurring issues and prevent equipment failures.
Maintenance Management:
  • Oversee the development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure alignment between condition-based maintenance and preventive maintenance schedules.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Analyse performance data and metrics to monitor asset health and identify trends.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on asset performance, optimization efforts, and improvement outcomes.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on asset performance and operational efficiency.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance plant reliability and productivity.
Budget and Resource Management:
  • Develop and manage budgets for asset management and optimization projects.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure the successful execution of optimization initiatives.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and maintenance, to achieve asset optimization goals.
  • Liaise with external vendors, contractors, and consultants to leverage expertise and resources.
Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety and reliability within the plant.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification in asset management is a plus.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in asset management, reliability engineering, or maintenance management in a heavy industrial environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of asset management principles, Six Sigma, reliability engineering, and maintenance best practices.
  • Proficiency in using asset management and maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS, EAM).
  • Experience with data analysis tools and techniques for monitoring and optimizing asset performance.
