Responsibilities
- Help support the design and development of Citi's comprehensive controls program.
- Work in close liaison and coordination with business stakeholders and sponsors to elicit, analyze, communicate, plan, manage, validate, and prioritize requirements and build strong professional relationships.
- Effectively understand and translate business problems and opportunities into requirements, recommending actionable solutions and performing end‑to‑end business analysis to identify gaps and propose innovative and creative solutions.
- Create and generate technical documents such as Business Requirements Documents, Functional Requirements Documents, and System Requirement Specifications.
- Apply thorough knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile development.
- Support implementation of new controls or improve the effectiveness of existing controls, identify areas for improvement, and help implement necessary changes in products or tools.
- Drive and manage product or tool enhancements focused on increasing efficiency and reducing risk.
- Perform, manage, and lead efficiently under tight deadlines and a dynamic work environment.
- Utilize strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, asking questions and challenging existing processes to achieve operational efficiencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint with a solid knowledge of object‑oriented design, development, and UML.
- Communicate business requirements to a broad range of technical, non‑technical, and diverse stakeholders; demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and partnership skills to positively influence outcomes.
- Operate as a personable, reliable self‑starter who requires minimal oversight and remains highly motivated while adapting to changing priorities.
- Apply project and product management experience and leverage knowledge or experience in emerging AI and Generative AI tools.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders and process owners to drive management decisions that maintain operations within the firm’s risk appetite.
- Assist in assessing business or functional risk appetite in line with changes in the business environment, regulatory requirements, and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess potential risks and develop mitigation activities, defining acceptable risk levels across various operational areas.
- Ensure compliance with risk management and compliance policies.
- Collaborate with business and functions to understand control processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices related to control management, ensuring program alignment with these standards.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on the performance of the controls assessment and design.
- Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, safeguarding Citi’s reputation, clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and supervising team activity to create accountability for standard maintenance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5‑8 years of experience in product management, central controls, operational risk management, compliance, audit, or other control‑related functions in the financial services industry.
- Ability to identify, measure, and manage key risks and controls in the context of product.
- Strong knowledge of developing and executing product controls.
- Proven experience in control‑related functions within the financial industry.
- Proven experience implementing sustainable solutions and improving processes.
- Understanding of compliance laws, rules, regulations, and best practices.
- Understanding of Citi’s policies, standards, and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex risk and control activities and processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage at the senior management level.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
