Job summary

Siemens in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor in the molding department to lead a team across three shifts, monitor output, troubleshoot machine/tool issues, and ensure quality and EHS compliance.

You will interpret drawings, control plans, and specifications; plan resources; manage headcount and scheduling; and use SAP PP/MM, lean methods (5S, Kanban, PDCA, 8D) to optimize throughput.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Production with 3-4 years of experience in Low Voltage Products in production molding department.
• Familiarity with SAP PP & MM modules and production planning processes.
• Strong knowledge of lean principles and safety regulations (EHS).

Responsibilities

• Daily shift output tracking for a group of molding machines (Thermoplastic, Thermoset, Injection, Compression).
• Troubleshoot machine and molding tool failures.
• Operate PLC-controlled molding machines and related automations/accessories (robotic arm, deflashing, MTC, hopper dryer, chiller, cooling tower, vacuum, feeders).
• Plan resources (man, machine, material) against demand and production sequences across shifts.
• Read and interpret drawings, control plans, specifications to meet quality standards.
• Plan, prioritise, and manage resources and oversee production sequences and shift productivity.
• Headcount planning and shift scheduling; record production data and analyze OEE.
• Adhere to EHS norms; monitor and improve safety and environmental compliance.
• Systematic problem-solving approach and readiness to work all 3 shifts.

Job Description:

• Daily shift output tracking and monitoring for group of machines including but not limiting to- Thermoplastic, Thermoset Injection, Compression molding machine and Press machine.


• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills for troubleshooting the machine and molding tool failures.


• Firsthand experience on working on PLC controlled molding machine and related automations/accessories like robotic arm, deflashing, MTC, hopper dryer, chiller, cooling tower, vacuum systems, accumulator, and peripheral equipment.


• Utilize the resources effectively in field of hydraulics, molding, and press technologies.


• Ensure the shift output and related production activities are at par with the established quality standards and EHS requirements.


• Resource (Man, Machine & Material) planning as against customer demand.


• Read and interpret drawing, control plans, specifications to makes judgments on machine parameters to meet desired quality standards to the specific product.


• Plans, prioritizes, and manages related resources and measures, oversees all assigned/ major parts of production sequences, and across the shifts in production unit.


• Headcount planning, shift scheduling, Production data recording and analysis of shift productivity and OEE improvement.


• Adhere the EHS norms- supervise, monitor, and improve the activities that stands for the specifications of Industry EHS standards.


• Systematic Problem-solving approach is must.


• Can be ready to work in all 3 production shifts.

What knowledge, Skills & Experience I need.

• Ability to lead with respect while dealing with technicians and subordinates.


• Demonstrates negotiation skills for resolving issues related to technicians at lowest levels.


• Demonstrates knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures for supervised groups. Understand and apply supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.


• Language – Candidate must have professional written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills to communicate and interact effectively as a leader for the assigned production shift, Language preference English, Hindi, and Marathi.


• Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)– Basic Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and procedures (IMS).


• Lean Manufacturing – Basic knowledge of lean principles and techniques for optimizing processes and eliminating waste., implementing \"5S\", \"Kanban\", \"PDCA\", \"8D\" tools.


• Education, and Training:


• Diploma/Degree - Mechanical / Electrical / Production with 3-4 years of experience in Low Voltage Products in production molding department.


• Microsoft office tools- MS Excel, MS teams, MS planner, OneNote.


• SAP - PP & MM module.
