Job summary

Zensar is seeking an experienced AES - Application Modernization specialist with AS400 expertise to lead a development team and deliver complex modules. You will guide junior developers, ensure quality code, and drive Agile delivery using AS400, ILE, RPGILE, Cobol and Db2 in an IBM i environment.

You should have strong analytical/problem-solving skills, familiarity with Azure AI and DevOps practices, and proven collaboration across cross-functional teams to achieve timely, robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-9 years of experience as an AS-400 Senior Developer.
• Strong expertise in AS400, ILE concept, Free Format (RPGILE), Cobol, and Db2.
• IBM i knowledge, Azure AI hands-on experience, debugging skills.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to collaborate with team and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide a team of junior developers, providing coaching and mentorship.
• Oversee the development, support, and maintenance of complex project modules.
• Apply standard software development principles, including Agile methodologies, to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Utilize AS400, ILE concept, Free Format (RPGILE), Cobol, and Db2 to develop and enhance applications.
• AI/Azure knowledge with certification and hands-on use to improve solutions.
• Implement web services and integrate them into the system architecture.
